IF you don't know much about graphics cards (or video cards) for new guys

ATI Radeon HD 5870 or above
is the best but that's my personal opinion

on the ATI Radeon HD 5870 i can achieve the following

visibility1600:
terrain details:VERY HIGH
object details:VERY HIGH
shadow details:VERY HIGH
tecture details:VERY HIGH
AVERAGE FPS:36.0
MAX FPS:53
MIN:18
AA: NORMAL AF:VERY HIGH
Resolution:1920x1200
but thats just for playing i can really push it to max out all settings and mosts times it will have average fps

At 2560x1600 i also found Arma II playable on the Radeon HD 5870. i had to lower the visibility slider to 1200, but were able to have texture detail, video memory all at "Very High." i found that i had to lower terrain detail, objects detail and shadow detail to "High." This was the only video card to provide playable performance with great image quality in the game at 2560x1600

I had a GeForce GTX 285 once that card has a really bad performance rating so DONT GET THAT IF UR SERIOUS ABOUT PLAYING ARMA
