Hi

New to Arma, bought it a week ago. No add-ons installed [yet].
I've downloaded from here a number of SP missions and a campaign (Muck's Revenge).

Missions unpacked *& loded int the "Missions" folder. They show up in "Scnarios" menu OK but clicking on any generates an error message such as:

" No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgWorlds.Chernarus_v11' "

Selecting "Campaigns" on the Single player menu generates an immediate message:

" No entry 'Campaigns\Mucks_Revenge\description.ext.Campaign' "

Clicking "OK" gets the Campaign menu with the choice of Red Harvest or Eagle Wing.

Patched to 1.05, no mods or add-ons installed [yet]. AIUI none of these missions required any.

I found a post here: http://www.armaholic.com/forums.php?m=posts&p=74335#74335

that refers to the "description.ext" file & recommended downloading & unpacking a campaign to see what the format was. There is no such file in "Muck's Revenge" - just a .pbo - so I downloaded "Chesty Puller". That does not have a description file either. Worse, it doesn't even show up in the Campaign menu.

Paths are:

G:\ARMA II\Campaigns\Mucks_Revenge

G:\ARMA II\Campaigns\pullercamp_v11

and for a typical mission

G:\ARMA II\Missions\TaskForce.Chernarus_v11

So my primary question is: What do I need to do to get these to run?

Puzzling that, e.g., apparently so many people have managed to run the missions and, especially, the campaigns, without files such as the description.ext being in the downloads.

System: i5 750 @ 3.81 GHz, Asus P7P55D LE, 4 GB OCZ Reaper, ATI 5850 with latest drivers & Catalyst, XP Pro [multiprocessor capable version] with SP3 & all updates as of last week.

TIA for any assistance.

Ciao

Carl

Hi

Problem solved - applied Robinson's Second Law ["When all else fails, read the instructions] & moved the .pbo files up a level straight into the /Campaigns or /Missions directories as appropriate.

Apologies - used to various other programs where additional files must be placed in specific sub-directories.

Cheers
