Hi everybody,

i´m very happy to announce the release of the

summerplants pack beta_0.5

by Bushlurker, Homer Johnston and Beton

The intention behind this addon is to give the community a basis of summervegetation
to use on chernarus or on custom islands so there is a quasi standard used
by the map or missiondesigners which is accepted by hopefully many servers.

At the moment this addon replaces the complete vegetation of chernarus with
a green summervegetation and is betaversion and not perfect.
As you notice the satmap may need some adjustments,
so if anybody is able and willing to contribute this would be great.

We are now waiting for comments and suggestions and will then proceed with tweaking everything
to please as many people as possible.
After that we will release two final versions.
One replacementversion and one addonversion for use on custommaps
which does not interfere with vanilla Arma2.

The addon consists of four selfexplaining pbo´s and the needed keys. Use like any other addon

Ok... first of all i have to say i´m very sorry about the problems with the trees. I have now split the archive in three parts and uploaded the whole bunch about 6!! times to provide a not corrupted download. I have tested it twice... the download works.
I´ll assure ill test my links before posting them in the future...

So now everyone who still wants can try and maybe enjoy the summerfeeling n chernarus.

Feedback is very welcome... as stated before.. and anybody with knowledge on how to tweak the satmap of chernarus should please share it...

Thanks for the update.
Do the addons depend on eachoter or can you use any standalone? I checked and it was not mentioned anywhere, but I just wanted to be sure ;)

With the first try the tree addon still was corrupted. Will download again to retry and make sure the problem was not on my side.

Ignore that, I needed to use winrar to unpack it as you splitted the archive with winrar, not 7z I guess :)

The addons are standalone in a way but should be used together since making partially summer does not make too much sense:)

Nice to hear... if you have any suggestions concerning the colour etc.

it´s important, that as many mappers as possible will be satisfied with the addon...

in the editor, visitor, are they suppose to show up green as well? I unpbo'd the file placed it in P: drive then loaded them into visitor and in buldozer I see them as the default color? is that how it is suppose to be or did i mess something up? thanks!!

At the moment this is only a replacement for orignal armaveg. This means you use original veg in visitor and have green vegetation ingame when using this mod.

Once we got enough feedback there will also be an addonversion for islandmakers which will not change original Arma2 but be usable for customislands.

All these archives contain "summertrees_1.0.pbo"? How are we supposed to combine this? Every file will overwrite the other one.
Some archives have no readme, I have no idea what to do with this.

Which addons of you does this replace, please provide some info so we know which addon replaces which old version, see these pages:

Hm..

sorry for the confusion....

The new summerpack v1.0 is a followup for version 0.5 of summerplants which was released earlier this year.
They are not needed anymore...or should be put together in one downloadspot for version1.0

In the rar archive you will have a folder @sum_rep_1.0 witch all the needed pbo´s, keys, serverkey and a readme. If you activate this addon it will replace the original vegetation of Chernarus and all islands using chernarus vegetation with a green summerversion.

+ this new version contains a new chernarus summersatmap to fit to the vegetation.

Soon there will be a set of summerplants which can be used by islandmakers for their customislands...without influence on standard arma2 vegetation...

i hope that solved the confusion... O:-)

Nope, sorry still have no idea what this all is. Let me show you whats in the archives so you can tell me where it belongs:

This looks to me as being the main file seeing as there is a readme and a key, correct?

Hm... well..

this is a splitted .rar made with winrar. Normally if you start to extract part1 it automatically takes part2, part3, etc.. In the end you will get a folder with all of the files you mentioned in it.
I have no idea how winrar packs all the stuff together i only know if you extract it you will get the desired folder. I have to split the data because uploading huge files to mediafire easily leads to errors and i have to upload all the stuff again.

Maybe i´ll have to switch over to 7z for my next releases.

Ahh right, now I get it. I use 7z, I guess that does not merge rar files or maybe I disabled it to do it on default. Thats why I didnt understand what to do with those files. (note to myself, try with rar now and than too :-P )

Now this misunderstanding is resolved I can update things. Thanks for your help :-)
