Hi, I'm fairly new to ArmA editing, but I was wondering...

Is there a way to get the position the cursor is at?

similar to how you can set a point for artillery using SecOp.

Or, more specifically: getPosASL cursorTarget

But without requiring your cursor to be on an acceptable target. (Or be using a laser pointer, which is basically the same thing anyway, since it just creates a temporary target).

Hmmm....
I've might understand it wrong, but, the way i understood it you want to make that where you place the mouse something happends? If you want that, I belive it's impossible... But what IS possible, is that something happends when you CLICK in a defined place by using the
OnMapSingleClick
command... You should take a GOOD look at this page: http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Category:Scripting_Commands_ArmA2 it has ALL possible commands from OFP to ArmA II... It helped a lot and, belive me, it's the most usefull resource you could use!
Oh, and, check out these 4 commands that i've found... i didn't actually give a good look at 'em, but maybe what you want is in there!

As this is ArmA: Armed Assault/Combat Operations section, I assume that's the game. I think that people even asked BIS employees who had to do something with the matter, and if I remember correctly, there's no such command in ArmA 1...
