Can anybody tell me where to install the game?

I mean i have ArmA2 installed but where should i point the Operation Arrowhead isntallation to have both working properly "together"?

Nevermind: Yesterday i tried and got lost with problems since the game installas but i have to add manually some path to the registry. Now it auto points to the ArmA2 directory.

Hi Big,

Could you please tell us if we need to install over the current Arma2 installation or if we need to install in a new directory ?

As i said yesterday it was kind of messy.

I uninstalled both games and then after installing arma2 and patch it to 1.07 this morning i installed operation arrowhead.

To be able to patch the game i had to add to the windows registry the path to my installation folder for arma2 (i use win7 64 bits) and maybe it was the problem yesterday cause i kept getting the "there is no arma2 installed in your computer" error.

In case someone needs it, it was here: (u have to launch regedit.exe and then find this)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Wow6432Node \ Bohemia Interactive Studio \ ArmA 2
I added a new string:
MAIN ---> and in value i added my ArmA2 installation folder

After having ArmA2 installed and patched again, i launched the Operation Arrowhead installation and it auto detected the ArmA2 folder and i installed it there.

I cannot try the game yet, cause till tomorrow my copy won't be activated.

Note: The Op. Arrowhead installation applied again patch 1.07 to my arma2 game even when it was already in 1.07 version.

Got mine from Sprocket , after download seems its installed into my main Arma folder and I got a combined operations desktop icon , so all seems good here , nestled away safely waiting on my activation code later , cant wait :D

(installed patch 1.07 again aswell , odd , but nothing seems affected)

So, I just want to get this straight so I don't screw anything up!

After I back up all my missions and addons and patch ArmA2 up to 1.07 I want to install OA, or can anyone else confirm it automatically updates ArmA 2 to 1.07.

When Installing OA do I install it into my main ArmA2 Folder or does it get its own folder? If so then do I have to move all my mod folders into the OA folder and change the target line for the new Icon?

I know its a lot of questions but I don't want to screw this up. *PARDON*

Armstrong-"Dust? i don't get it."

I can only tell you one thing, the sprocket download contains a patch from 1.0 to 1.07 for arma2. It will apply the patch after installing OA, and it will do it no matter you have your game already patched to 1.07.

About the folder, i installed it in the ArmA2 installation directory as it's the folder it auto selects.

What are the versions we're supposed to have on the bottom right corner of the main screen for both Arma2 and Operation Arrowhead ?

to install A2OA DVD version also, i should install it to my "old" ArmA2 directory?

Do they have to be combined at installation?

That's what i did, but using the downloaded versions.

I installed OA in the ArmA2 directory. And this is how my ArmA2 folder looks like:

I can launch ArmA2 or OA together with A2 depending the icon i use.

If you want to use Arma 2 and Operation arrowhead combined you should install OA inside the Arma 2 folder. The OA installer should detect the Arma 2 folder automatically.

If you want to run OA standalone you install it in a different folder.

Thanks Foxhound. I plan on running AO pure, with only official updates.

Thats a nice-simple answer Fox :)
But..in case someone has the "combined"installation you think he may have troubles getting
in "only" OA servers? (i mean ArmA2 will be treated as any common mod while not exist in server mods-allowed-list ?)
