Hi once more guys! Here I come with one more issue (I'm sorry but I had all these question a long time ago and hadn't registered at www.armaholic.com, I apologise =) ).

Basically, I want to create a camera and I have searched videos on YouTube on how to make a "scene.sqs", and I have the file. I will post the link to the main two videos I have consulted and they explain very well, problem is, it doesn't work in game when I create a unit and put in Init. field:
"this exec "scene.sqs".

They are all from the same person and there is version 1, 2 and 3. I have only consulted 1 and 2.

Please view them if you want I'll just basically write down what the problem is.

In the videos, keefygeorge01 says the there must be created a "scene.sqs" file that is used after the you have placed a cam position in, for instance, NotePad.

The code that it gives me is this:

After, I followed the instructions and made the proper camera effects:

Then, I put it all together and looks something like this:

Now I save the file as "scene.sqs" and the tutorial says I need to save the file in a folder called "scripts", which is user-created and that I must place the folder in the "User/Documents/arma2/scripts" folder, being the ".../scripts" the folder we created which contains "scene.sqs".

Now I go back to the editor and in the Init. field I type:
 "this exec "scene.sqs"
. Nothing happens, it just becomes regular gameplay.
I need help on figuring out what is wrong or what tweaks do I have to make so that the code is functional or if there is any specific folder instead of ".../scripts" I have to put the file in.

I appreciate the help, I know, it's kind of a very LONG post but it's the only way I can to it so sorry for the loooong time I took :) My sincere thanks. I always read my posts after I submit them to check if everything is at it's best, so even I had that work :)!

I found the error guys!

It shouldn't be

titlecut ["";BLACK IN",5]

But yes:

titlecut ["","BLACK IN",5]

It's barely noticeable!

Also this is wrong

_camera cameraeffects ["internal","back"]

It should be:

_camera cameraeffect ["internal","back"]

Hey Recon, is this for a Island intro? as my island Nicosia is still needing an intro and ive no
idea on how to do it! lol... making islands are more easier than scripts! hehe

Real simple pan shots are easy with the camera.sqs system. Pick a startpoint, pick an end point and done! :)

If you had some ideas of the types of shots you wanted, I'd be happy to try to help you get them in game.

Pirin, if you download my map Nicosia here! and can do some
magic with an intro, or scenes for me, that would be great! ill obviously add you to the credits too :-) and any future
work, updates, etc I need help with, ill know where to ask if you like?

I believe you make a the scenes, whatever into a "intro.sqs" or "mission.sqm" which need to be in my island.pbo
ive got the settings etc setup for it, just dont know how to do this scene thing, lol...

If you want to do this, PM me about how and when etc and I can add this into my new update due soon.

Pretty sure you can't make an intro to an actual island file, only single player missions. But if you wanted in game video of your island for a YouTube video or something that's possible. Some hints about the highlights of the island would be good too.

Yeah you can mate, you know like on Vanilla ArmA2 you get the intro of the
Carrier coming at you with aircraft all on it etc... Thats an intro, islands like Namalsk & Duala
have it too, Duala is just simply area shots around the place, but Namalsk is like a movie flying over the island playing music. Some other islands have it too.

What im thinking is, with the scenes taken from the island in question you put them into a mission folder and then in the config.cpp of the island you put the parts it needs in which to load them on startup, and bang you got it. LoL ..

Yep, like the ArmA2 menu intro screen.

That would be perfect! PM Pirin first though as he seemed interested to help first,
but im not sure he can do the menu intro as he thought it was something else,
also... ill be releasing an update of my island soon, you can wait untill then or do something in
the mean time?

If you want me to take shots also of team members, units and stuff like that, Please hand it to me and I can manage to load the island with the units set. Then just tell me who, when, and how I should take the shot.

When you've done all that (in the island) send me a PM and the download link if you may.

You played on Duala? where it just pans screen after screen of important places, airport/city, etc... well you can just take some like around the island, towns/ports/airfield you name it, like that.
If you wanted to do something with units, then not a war type scene, something like walking soldiers in the distance doing there duty, maybe slow motion type? lol... im kind of give you a lot of work here! haha.
Whatever you do mate, im sure ill be happy with!

Oh, and if you do with Units, make sure they are British, lol... nice new units from StalkerGB, the ones
in mtb camo I think they are called, brit units would work great :-)
