# Foxsch : Hey Hay _ Thread moved from elsewhere - "Hi, For a while now, I am assuming it was one of the Six-Updater updates which initiated the bug, I have been unable to scroll to (for instance - 'nades). I can access a menu for charges, but the action key does not place them. To clarify; 'nades do not appear in my 'F' selector, and satchel charges, while appearing on my mouse-scroll selector, will not initiate when selecting any action key - left mouse or enter. I'm not sure where to look to fix the problem, and would really appreciate any pointers." DarkXess and Viper have pointed out the keys and commands that should create these functions but alas they do not, dead keys for both .. any pointers?

Well maybe the third copy and paste will help you understand. You need to use self interaction and interaction keys to place satchel charges etc. And iirc ctrl + f to switch to grenades. F is only used as a fire selector in ACE2.

Good Day. I was wondering if anyone knows how to handle the AH6 Little bird DAGR/FLIR. i guess it was ace-added so i'll ask here. As Pilot, i can fire the unaimed miniguns and the FFAR-Pods, but when i get in a copilot/gunner, al i have got is a lasermarker with FLIR. Now, when i shoot one of the DAGR Rockets, they just fly out straight no effect, not even steering into the direction the laser dot points.

Nope ~ Definitely checked and triple-checked these. Those are what is 'supposed' to happen on selection - that is why I am posting, they do not work!

Have you made sure your settings are all setup right, did you by chance run the ACE Clippi before running ACE2 for the first time?

That is possible yes ~ Is there a workaround if I did? @Oksmans ~ you mean reinstall ACE2?
I've attached screen-shot's of my settings in ACE and also, what I hope are the relevant key settings ...

looks like your using ACE2 for ArmA 2 standalone. The ACE2 that updates frequently via six updater is meant for A2/OA= Combined Operations. If you do indeed only use ArmA 2 you need to remove all ACE2 mods in your directory and download the ACE2 for ArmA 2 straight from this site.

- Advanced Combat Environment 2 - Core
- Advanced Combat Environment 2 - eXtras (ACEX)
- Advanced Combat Environment 2 - SM

Also any further questions for ArmA 2 ACE 2 Standalone belong here. :-)

@Viper, I have gone through all 50 pages and still need a question to be answered (sorry im new to Armaholic).
I need to know, how to change keys when using just ACE-2 OA, when I open the clientside.hpp file it comes up with all this #define, crap and i have no clue how to change the keys from that. Also whenever I go into ACE settings in-game, when you press ESC, I cant change any keys at all, please help!!! Im sooooo frustrated!!!!!!!

Nice one Viper thx for that ~ I'll get that done and let you know how I get on. I have a temporary workaround ~ launching ARMA2 via SixUpdater to a profile that does not have ACE, but it is just a temp - I would like the option of using ACE with satchel's, nades etc etc ~ Cheers!!!

You need to have the ACE Clippi open mate, it is located in 'C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\@ACE\clippi\aceclippi.exe', once you have gone through all the settings there, open up ArmA 2, go inside the editor and place a player down, then preview. Hit escape and choose all your ACE settings , hit save and then the ACE Clippi will save your settings.

No need to go in the clientside.hpp as the clippi automatically adjusts it all to your desire. The old way was to manual add the settings (your question has been answered by me a few times here).

No problem mate, hopefully you'll have it sorted out.

I'm new to ARMA 2 and its mods and have this SAME problem as everyone regarding ACE mod's 2 "interaction" menus. ACE mod is installed correctly, updated through Six launcher and the mod works except for the above functions.

First, Viper is correct you need to use those keys. But the documentation is total crap and there are a lot of assumptions going on here that makes it frustrating for newbs. Assumption that newbs have non working KB or that they forgot to bind the keys, or forgot to edit or update the usercontrol files.

The problem : The keybinding feature of ACE mod does let you bind almost any keys to those 2 functions, but a lot of keys actually DO NOT WORK in game when the game has already bound those same keys, even if you rarely use it for the game itself!!! Cannot share keys with the mod and game! The game will override and ACE will be ignored.

Solution:

Just rebind those keys to other non used keys on your KB or make sure to UNBIND it from the game controls itself. I used [ and ], for instance, and made sure it was unbound in the regular ARMA 2 controls. Now it works. Give it try and I hope someone updates ACE's documentation or FAQ. Make sure the ACE mod does not use the SAME key for its function or add a modifier such as SHIFT-[ or CTRL-[ if you want to use the same keys for two functions. Great mod, crap documentation or testing. :D Good luck everyone.

Pretty much what palyarmerc said, I made a a while back, alls you need is the ace parachute pack. There are two types the MC one is the steerable one.

Holy sh!t dude you are 4 years older in like 6 months time. WTF :-P

Haha, I am fully aware on how to add the chutes and such, but for some reason when they jump out the actual motions of the ACE HALO doesn't seem to take effect. So, all you guys are saying is just add the chute and everything else will take effect? Viper, I am actually the same age lol. :-D ;-)
