Hi ya all,

I've been trying for some time now to make the SLX mod work, but I keep failing.
Now, I downloaded the SLX mod, opened it in winrar, ectracted the files into my arma 2 addons folder where I keep all my addons.
went in to the folder called @SLX, took all the PBO files in the given folder out, and put them directly in to the addons folder, as I always do, then when I try to open arma2 I get this message: Include file @SLX/SLX.hpp not found, now, I located the HPP file in the slx folder and tried to extract that into the folder aswell, but it doesen't seem to work. So what am I missing?
I would really appreciate some help on this one, been looking forward to play this mod for ages!

Never ever put custom addons in the default addons folder, every page clearly says this. You will run into trouble doing it anyway!!
Below you will find out why.

The .hpp file belongs in the @slx folder, nowhere else as it wont work. So, put it in the root @slx folder, not in the addons folder inside the @slx folder.
Also do not rename the @slx folder, keep it as it is!

Ok, thank you for an answer, but I'm still stuck on how to install the modifications correctly, I've seen alot of do this and that
ways on how to install mods, but I never understood the explanations. Now, by root folder you mean the folder I allready extracted to the Addons folder? Inside the folder there are usually other folders aswell, so you say I am just going to have to leave it at that?
I'm really stuck here. A super simple explanation on how to would be greatly appreciated, I'm not so much into computing and modding and the such. So if anyone would bother I would turn out a happy man!

Super simple explantion is how the readme tells you to install it. Extract the @SLX folder into your Arma 2 folder. Thats it. Than add the correct mod folder name to your target line. Every downloadpage contains a link to our FAQ explaining where and how to do that. Can't be much simpler than that ;-)

Ok, I'm with you this far, extract the @SLX folder using winrar to the folder called Arma 2, now this is where I fail to understand the rest,

By adding the correct modfolder name to your targetline?
This targetline you talk about is found where?
Arma shortcut on desktop?`
I'm really sorry for being so stupid here. :P

I have the same problem with COSLX but none of those fixes work.


EDIT: downloaded the latest patch for SLX, seems to work fine now.

Same problem.

Just downloaded COSLX by the PlayWithSIX, and the problem with the slx.hpp is still here.

Any way to solved this ?

EDIT :

I solved it by myself.

I just place the "slx.hpp" in the @COSLX/addons folder.
Not in the @COSLX, where the game don't find the file.

Play with 6 is out of date, it has the first version of the mod.

If you remove these files:
slx_anim_swim.pbo
slx_aiskill.pbo
slx_ace_fixes.pbo

The hpp error will not showup.

I will see if I can get the latest patches to PW6

Hi Günter Severloh !

I take the COSLX in PlayWithSix and the version is 1.6, right.

But I must admit that's a little trouble...
The first time I used mods, I always come here, and later, I discoved PlayWithSix, that permit to maintain up to date all the mods, like ACE.

So, my question is : Why don't update the version of SLX in Six ?

Because, I mean... Even if Armaholic is good, all of us want the latest versions of the mods, so it's a real mess if we must use Six for ones and Armaholic for others.

That should be more usefull to maintain up to date the both versions.

Concerning the problem, I solved it, thanks anyway ;-)

Play with Six is up to date, latest version is 2.6

Hum, you confirmed that SLX version on PlayWithSIX is outdated.
So, after that you say that you'll watch to update the SLX version in PlayWithSIX.

So, you confirmed what I say : Before, SLX isn't updated on PlayWithSIX. And uou'll updated it.

So, I understand what you say, when I say you that the SLX version is in 1.6, I confirmed what you advanced : Before, SLX on PlayWithSIX isn't up to date.

When I say "Or maybe I don't really understand you ?", is because instead of say "That's done, SLX is up to date on PlayWithSIX" you turne it like you say all the opposite of your first post :-)

I don't understand it on the first read, but after yes, even if I already read that you'll check it.

In other words, I understand in your last post that you say that SLX isn't up to date, check and after that, confirmed that it's up to date, even with the proof of the SLX txt file that said "1.6 version".

But you only come again to say "That's done, it's up to date".
But without the part with the "That's done", so is confusing.

Anyway, it's just a comprehension problem, not something like a tragedy.

Thanks for the support, and the SLX mod, I haven't any BIS forums account, so just a question :

Have you spot that in some areas, the IA can spot the Player or other opposing force through the walls and buildings ?
That's a little embarassing for SpecOps operations that requiered stealth action.

Do you think that there is a way to fix that ?
