When ever i boot up a custom map, i can edit it, but when i go to play it, the game crashes. It is slightly frustrating, are there any fixes for it?

Well, that is really the only thing that happens. I can open the map in the editor, place units, waypoints etc... But when I go to test the mission, the game loads the map, and as it is about to start, it crashes. This happens to 3 different maps. No errors are show, just the Windows Crash information. Do you want that?

I really don't have idea what your problem might be, but:

Do u have a clean ArmA2 installation? I mean if u load addons when launching the game? If you do try to load ArmA2 without additional addons.

Also did u try to place one and only soldier and preview the mission to see if it crashes?

Yeah, got a few addons running. Mando of course, a A-10 Sound mod, weapon sound mods, Project '85. I place one soldier, to test the map out, and i load it, it crashes.

I have so many at this time, removing them all would be a pain. I will just stick with the stock maps then.

How do you install your addons?

Do you place them in the ArmA2\Addons folder? Cause this is a really bad way to do it. If you don't do this then it's not a problem to launch the game without loading any addon.

If u installed all the addons in the ArmA2\Addons folder is possible u ended with a "corrupted" game and that could be the reason of your problems.

In any download page for addons you have a link to how to install addons using addons folders.

Even applying patches can go wrong if u have custom addons in your ArmA2\Addons folder.

Almost every page for addons/mods in armaholic contains this info:

Installation:
As we always recommend use modfolders.
Check our FAQ for a clear explanation.

That link takes you to a FAQ about how to install addons. The first way says: Option 1 : Normal method (not recommended at all!)

You can combine the modfolders with any game launcher you like. You can find them in the ArmA2\Misc & Utilities section:

Probably it's the best you can do.
