Hi Duke, :welcome to Armaholic :)

Its nice to see that you want to create some game content for Arma, the more people do that, the better the game will be.
If you need help dont hesitate to ask. :wink

Thanks Foxhound, much appreciated!

There are many longer missions for ArmA so I just want to create a lot of good quality, smaller, quicker and battle heavy maps so players forget about the fact they were either just cooling their heels loading a map or perhaps in seagull mode when they connected.

I think Sector Control is a pretty fun mode so I'll likely start monkeying around there and see where it takes me.

I guess maybe now would be a good a time as any to give a little background as to who I am.

My name is Ken and I'm a 38 Year Old Male who is fortunate enough to father the best daughter the universe has ever seen. I know many people talk about parenting as being a major life change and it is but in my case, it's all been for the better. I can honestly say that when I look in the mirror, I'm a better person than who I was 11 years ago and I owe it all to my child.

Aside from being a loving father, I'm also an avid gamer and webmaster. I own a small network of sites that operate under a parent site called lifesupporters.com (http://www.lifesupporters.com). My childhood memories are based around fear of an alcoholic father and a dysfunctional family unit where mom was the only clear thinker but her voice paled to my fathers drunken demeanor. My memories and bottled up past are what ultimately lead to the creation of lifesupporters.com as it's an interpersonal website designed for anyone to register and discuss/face and ultimately conquer, the demons of your life.

Some of the other sites include how to make money online, gamemoviemaking and phpnuke theme creation.

I also staff at the following:

- Wolfgaming.net: (Staff Level) ADMIN
- nukemods.com: (Staff Level) ADMIN
- UK Webmaster World: (Staff Level) ADMIN -> soon to retire.
- dadaNuke: (Staff Level) ADMIN -> soon to retire.
- armed-assault.net: (Staff Level) MOD

Aside from being addicted to ArmA, I also play IL 2 Forgotten Battles/BOE/AEP/PF/Sturmovik 1946, Half Life 2 + Episodes, rFactor, Black and White 2, and Doom 3/ROE.

Like virtually everyone here, I was a huge fan of OFP but sadly I didn't venture in beyond playing the campaign, expansions and some online. You'll notice that I tend to ask a lot of seemingly silly questions in regards to ArmA scripting/editing but it's because I'm pretty new to the whole creation process. I fully intend to gain as much knowledge as I possibly can to create quality content for ArmA so please bear with my stupid questions. Believe me when I say that I'm not trying to be a pain but it does me no good to get help doing something when I learn nothing from it.

I'm a very easy going and fun loving person and I think you'll all come to know that about me. I love to joke around (a lot actually) but I take things seriously when the case calls for it. I really hope to get to know all of you either via forum or by pwning you ingame.

Regards,

Ken (aka Duke)
Lifesupporters.com Network Founder.

Hello everyone. I've been lurking around since the MP demo and I finally decided to register. I usually play COOP though CTF seems fun from the little I've tried of it. :)

I guess it's my turn, since i started this topic.

Personal info:
I'm 26, from Slovenia. Work as software presale support. I got a girl for a few years now, who Fox didn't liked.

I'm the guy who started Ghostaholic and get Fox and Big into this web shit.
I have some knowledge about WWW, coding and server administration. With my knowledge i try to help Big and Fox as much as possible, but i don't have much of free time.

At them moment i play Trackmania Nation and some GRAW from time to time. If Fox send me my Google money, then i'm gonna buy Arma as well.

Hello People,
i am from NorthEast Germany and about 30 years old.
Used to play Flashpoint with some friends on Lan.
Checked ArmA since 1.05 Online. I found a lot Servers with too many Spoiling Kids.
When i came to the Armaholic server and met some players wich use the Game the way i like it too.
Inviting atmosphere here. Cheers to Big, Fox, Tango6, Opus, and Killgore
and all People i played there with.
Looking Forward to some good CoopMissions.

Hello everyone. I'm Wittmann from clan Ka-Tet (the British one)
I'm 37 years old and have been playing also flashoint for a long time. Amongst our clan we have mostly played Joint Ops but since release of ArmA I have been concentrated on that..

Since I have a 1 year old son my gaming has been reduced a lot. So when ever I have some spare time I'll rather edit missions instead of playing.:D
I work as a tester for some electronics in my hometown which also houses main factories for Nokia..
Besides that I'm also a machinist in local cinema.
Nice of you to host also my missions...they might not be perfect but I've tried mi best.:satisfied

Hi Wittmann Ka-Tet, :welcome to armaholic.com

We are more than happy we can host your missions, the more missions people like you release for the public the better the Arma experience will be :thumb
If you have any questions about getting things to work with your missions we are more than happy to try and help you with the editing :wink

You guys are from JO, its really nice to see so many players move over from JO. I have played some JO games (a few hours a month) with my brother (Tango6NL) and always enjoyed it.

Hi fellow old people (and the youngsters)

I heard this is where all the old git's meet to chat about "when i was a lad we never had things like computers we had to make our own enjoyment out of a couple of cardboard boxes and a crayon we nicked from school, with added guidance from Blue Peter shows on our 17" black and white TV where we had to change channels by pressing a button or twisting a knob on the TV itself" Oh those were the days :)

I'm Dave 44 years young been playing OFP since its first release, I had a dabble with VBS1 too I'm a member (and one of the admin) of 1st Veterans Battalion although it is mainly US based there are members from other nations there too (All ex-serving or currently serving military personnel) Been building my on computers since the early atari ST's, single, and joint own a communications company, I like my toys (the more futuristic the better) I have a bad habit of buying expensive power tools "just in case I need them at some time" Have a cross German Shepherd dog who is about 12 years old and starting to go deaf who I adore more than any human, I'm learning to ride a motor bike again (2nd childhood) Smoke and drink vodka, been decorating my house for the past 8 years and still not finished yet cuz I'm a lazy "B" :)

Well theres my introduction :)

Be nice chatting with the more mature players of OFP/Res/ArmA.

Dave

Thanks for the welcome Foxhound

Yea I have come to the conclusion that trying to roll Smirnof into a rizzla is just proving to be too difficult, I suppose I'll have to dust off my portable Intravenous Drip system again :)

Bit of a bugger though because it kept getting in the way of my driving :):)
