Hey everyone, new armaholic member here. I'm still playing ARMA 1 (mostly because that's all my computer can run, ARMA II for this machine would be like trying to pull a oil tanker with a Mini Cooper) and just started getting into mission editing, and the very basics of scripting. I'll probably have a lot of questions, so excuse me in advance for the more noob-ish inquiries.

Hi all,
Didn't realise this 'introduce yourself' thread was here. Anyhoo..

I'm John and I'm a forty-something gamer/NHS minion living in London. I'm a big roleplayer, wargamer and have an Xbox 360 for killing things and generally saving the world/universe. I recently went back to university, and had to replace my aged PC. I made the conscious decision to not have any games on my PC so as to not distract me from my studies. Epic fail, as all I did was transfer my gaming from PC to Xbox. Doh.

Recently I've been playing the hell out of Operation Flashpoint on the console, and while I enjoyed the experience, I wanted more than the console could offer. This lead me to BI's Arma series for the PC and the decision jump in with both feet. My computer is now in the process of being made game-ready again.

Anyway, I look forward to discussing Arma with you guys here on the forum, and hopefully in-game as well.

John

I don't know what I'm doing.

Hey guys I'm Ras3ng6N from Romania,Bucharest.I almost finished the high school,I'm in the twelfth class.I really enjoy playing Armed Assault 1 and 2 and when I play ArmA,I realize that my war strategies will become vital in the real life if I will become a soldier, which is one of my wishes.War games really enjoy me just like the first person shooter games or simulators.I also like playing games highly dependent on World War 2 like Company of Heroes :-D.And I always watch documentaries or play games about the World War 2.In the ArmA mission editing I do some basic scripting, use ArmA edit to create briefings, overviews(without pictures cause the pictures don't work for me)or description.ext files.I would like to know how to put a picture in the overview because i watched lots of tutorials, even from BIS,Armaholic forum topics and youtube but none of them worked :-(.Anyways,I hope I will become a great member of Armaholic and I say gratz to all of the admins who are working hard to keep this beautifull site in the open.Cya.

Ready for anything,ready for victory!

Hi my name is Rudy aka Ninja_Prime, I've been playing games since way back when Donkey Kong, Tanks, space invaders, Missile Command and the like were the only games you could play.
I love playing RTS and Tactical shooters, although I will play most games I can get my hands on. I have played Ghost Recon since it first came out and also a little known game that preceded that called, Special Ops Green Beret. I still play Rainbow Six, in fact I still have some of the early RS games in my cupboard somewhere. I am also a big fan of the Hidden and Dangerous games which reminds me a lot of the ARMA games. I love SWAT4 too.
The main reason I am here is for the editor, and ARMA certainly has a very well made and comprehensive one with good support for the modding community.
I like to buy most games that have an editor built in, so that I can prolong the game just a little bit longer. I have also been level designing since 2000, cutting my teeth, so to speak with Ground Control. I have done stuff with UDK and also the Crysis editor.
I hope to get to grips with the ARMA editor so I can create some campaigns and missions for the community.
So if you get loads of questions from me to start with please be patient, and if I can help anyone in return then I will be more than happy to oblige.

Well, finally made it onto Arma II - why has it taken so long?? What a GREAT game - it is going to be my downfall for 2013 (I am guessing that soon "Get off the computer!" will be the only point of contact with her indoors! *DRINK*
).

Ex British squaddie - 10 years, but been out longer than that now - and I survived with my brain relatively intact.
Looking forward to meeting up in-game, when I have a bit more of a handle on what to do!
