Just wanted to say Hi *HI* to everyone and introduce myself.

Many years ago I purchased Operation Flashpoint and although I liked the idea of a go anywhere, do the mission how you wanted military sim I found it too hard, or perhaps I just had no patience. I suppose it's because I was so used to the jump into the action Delta Force 2 et al style of gameplay. Well many years on and many hours of playing the COD series, MoH series and BF series I felt I should try and get back into the sim side of games (probably an age thing I just can't seem to keep up with the joypad wealding youngsters in the run of the mill FPS's, well I am 50 now. I still like BF3 but I am finding it a little tedious running shooting, running shooting etc as well as the fact they all seem to be becoming very samey)
So I plumped for the ARMA X from Sprocket. All loaded up two days ago I am trying the basic training at the moment. I am finding it a bit of a challenge, especially the vast number of keys that need to be used and the rather clunky operation of the keys. The game isn't as polished, ie sound, graphics the ragdoll effect of enemy being shot etc as say BF2BC but I can live with that.
But the game and options are vast and a big plus is that I can use TrackIR5 which helps with the immersion into the game. I have so many questions like how to mod, which mods are a must (for me a stance indicator in the HUD would be nice if there is one), where to go to play online, friendly servers etc.
Looking forward to joining in on heree and online at some point.

Regards

Martin
Thanks to Foxhound and DarkXess for the redirections :-) Will try to be more observant in the future :-[

Just wanted to say Hi,Thankyou and Sorry
The Hi is to all..... i've just joined here today after buying all the Arma collection a few weeks back after watching many of you guys on youtube playing out some of the most incredible battles, missions.
The Thankyou is for the many free missions made by you,to be downloaded and enjoy playing (2 so far by me)

Welcome to Armaholic. I'm assuming you're father is a soldier. Tell him thanks from Canada :) It'd be pretty sweet to do some missions he's been on in ArmA!

I am very macho.

Hi people, this is me.
- gaming
Gaming is cool, the whole thing about simulating things in particular.
- what are you doing here
I saw Arma III on youtube and thought it looked spectacular. I then found the Lite Alpha giveaway so i registered here and wrote a little poem and now I'm waiting for the Alpha invite :)
- other basic informations
I work with user experience and usability and look forward to testing this game. Otherwise I do lots of things. Music and some arts, acting and stuff like that. I like building things and I have great plans for a full scale flight sim in my basement some day. Some day...

Oh, I made a 170x170 Avatar and uploaded it but the avatar function seems a bit broken. Or I did something terribly wrong, cause my custom avatar is not showing. Oh well. At least maybe my signature pic works. Let's hope, I'll see after I press Reply I guess :)

EDIT, neither Avatar or signature seems to work... It works here but not in the signature. Do I need to turn on the signature somehow?

Sup! I'm Radimus or Prime. Or Walt. Depends who you ask in what circle. Been looking for a large scale force on force game with a boat load of options ever since playing MAG on PS3. Since MAG is all but done with I gave up on ever finding a game that offered what i was looking for. Stumbled onto some ARMA II videos whilst searching for training videos to show my airsoft team and instantly went wide eyed.

Found out what I needed to get (more or less) ordered a PC and getting ARMA II and III. Gonna hopefully get in with a group of like minded players and play some EPIC coop games.

Little about me. I'm 28. I'm a father to be. I run an airsoft team here in little Rhode Island dubbed Red Haven. But with little Jr on the way I might not be allowed out as much so I need something to get me my combat fix.

I'm a joker. Not a smoker. Don't even know what a midnight tooker is (nor how to spell it) but I'm sure it's got something to do with the funny green plants the creepy pale guy grows next door in his shed. This doesn't mean I don't take things serious. I just take great pride in always having a good time.

Can't wait to get into my first 2 hour coop mission and be the first one dead at first contact. Not saying that is my goal. I'm just saying that is how things usually go for me. Bad luck or no luck.

I start playing Arma next week when my computer is ready. In the meantime I'm stuck twiddling my thumbs and practicing my Ric Flair impersonation in preparation for my first time loading up that game.

If you are wondering why Flair is relevant it's because I'll be screaming "WOOOOOOOO!"

Hello my name is Chris, I've been playing ARMA 2 for a few years and now the ARMA 3 Alpha but I've never taken much of a active part in the ARMA community before, I mainly just play missions with a few of my friends. I'm an animation student so I have and am improving my skills in 3D modelling, Rigging and animation and I'm hoping to try and start making addons for ARMA 2/3 once I get some free time after my uni course finishes for summer. I also do video editing and I've made a couple of amusing videos of me and my friends antics in ARMA: http://youtu.be/zgyygs5NAw8

Hi, I joined here because my friend is a pretty avid armaholic, in fact I think he's making some content for Arma 3. I enjoy Arma as well, though perhaps not as much as him, I've got Arma 2/OA and the Arma 3 Alpha. I'm 21 and currently serving the in Army in Ft. Bragg as an Airborne Infantryman in the 1-508th PIR. I'm a somewhat competent game artist myself, though I don't really have any plans to contribute any kind of mod content for Arma 3, you never know what might happen.

I'm not exactly new, but it's been forever since the last time I was around here, nice to see some familiar faces are still here (Foxhound).
