Version 2.1 of the ECHO package has been uploaded to Armaholic
- Ability to terminate ECHO FSMs.
- Ability to create artillery batteries dynamically.
- Minor bug fixes.
- Updated documentation.
This package is meant to be used as a toolkit to improve various aspects of gaming in the Arma 2 simulation environment. It is a work in progress and several aspects may change as the code evolves. Feedback is certainly welcome. It has been tested with ArmA2 and OA.
Fire Direction: Simulated fire direction control.
The fire direction system is composed of a series of user-callable functions, support routines and an optional Finite State Machine ( FSM ) that collectively simulate a fire direction system.
The mission designer creates one or more artillery batteries and at least one unit to act as a forward observer. The functions supplied allow for aggregation of observations, analysis of targets and creation of fire mission data. The supplied FSM allows for easy integration of these functions into the mission.
IPC: Inter-Process Communications.
The inter-process communications system is a set of user-callable functions and support routines
designed to facilitate the exchange of data between arbitrary processes in Armed Assault. The
processes involved may be on the same computer or part of the network of hosts that are part of the
current mission. It allows for more flexiblity in communications between routines than standard ArmA2 techniques provide.
As we always recommend use modfolders to seperate the custom content from the official game content to prevent problems. For different ways to set up your modfolders and use them please visit our FAQ.
Demonstration missions are included.
