As soon as you figure out how to start your game in CO mode you can apply the same way to the oaserver.exe.

Please let me know how you activated it to run in CO mode so i can (hopefully) remember it for future reference. ;-)

well it looks like the cmd uses the below, but is too long to put it on a shortcut target:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead\ARMA2OA.exe" "-mod=C:\Program Files (x86)\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2;C:\Program Files (x86)\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead\EXPANSION;ca"

However, i have uninstalled Arma2OA and BAF and have re-installed, this time inside Arma2 folder as suggested by the setup, and now i get the combined shortcut..!

I did the same server end...

Hoping that perhaps I may find either an answer or advice to a problem that I just recently encountered this week. it all started a few months back when I downloaded and installed a Beta patch, for what reason i did, I can't honestly say I know. I don't normally DL Beta patches in general. Regardless, I did not have any issue with it. I was able to launch the game through my Arma 2 CO shortcut pinned on my taskbar without any problem. However, this past Monday, I started receiving an error message in relation to INKO's disposable launcher add on, which I never had happen before. So, OK, didn't see it as a big deal. I looked and saw the version I was using was 1.2. I than proceeded to come here and see that a newer version was available, 1.3. So, I DL'ed it, deleted the 1.2 version and installed 1.3 and then launched the game, again, using my CO shortcut. Game loaded, yet I still got the same message, but still didn't consider it a major issue. However, once I was on the main menu, I noticed that none of the ACE mods were NOT enabled. So, I enabled them and rebooted. Well, that's when the real issues began. As it rebooted, it crashed and I received the following error message;
"Error Creating Direct3D 9 Graphical Engine" so, I did a search on saw that the issue revolved around certain Beta patches. It was suggested than than that to correct the problem, add the Beta info to the target destination. But before I did this, I saw that the Beta itself had its own shortcut, so, before modifying anything, I tried that and guess what? it worked. ACE loaded and everything appeared OK at first. Until I started playing around in the editor where I noticed that most, if not all, of the ACE features weren't working, such as hand grenades, M203 launcher not loading despite having plenty of round on my person. In hopes that I could go back to using the CO shortcut, where everything did work fine, I tried launching it through there. No go. Same message as before, "Error Creating Direct3D 9 Graphical Engine"

So, first, my apologies for writing a bit of a book here, but right now, all I want is to uninstall the game and reinstall everything, minus of course, any Beta patches. But, I have one problem there. I no longer have the Arma 2 original disc. I gave it to a former co-worker who was a bit of a COD biotch and I gave it to him to try but never got it back. However, I when I got Operation Arrowhead, I downloaded that, as well as the British Pack from GamersGate and can still access them. The question I am getting too is this, in order to remove the patch, can I just uninstall Op Arrowhead and everything else that came afterward OR am I going to need to do a complete uninstall of the original Arma 2 game also? And, if anyone has any other options or ideas different than that, please share. I still don't have the slightest idea as to why this began when it did in the first place. I certainly don't believe that INKO's addon had anything to do with it, but since that was the last thing I downloaded and installed, prior to the issue occurring, that is why I mentioned it.

I had problems with the disposable launcher addon too, but only in local MP which is why I removed it again.

Have you tried reinstalling DirectX 9? I had all the recent betas installed except one maybe and never had any problems like that. And I always replace the game files with beta ones because I'm too lazy to add another shortcut.

I'm not sure about getting rid of the patch. To be on the safe side I would make backups of my mod folders, uninstall completely and clean up what's left in the game folder and then reinstall.

Eventually only reinstalling OA would be enough, but if that doesn't work you need to do it once more.
Ah crap, missed the part of the missing disc.

But if you have installed the betas as supposed, you should have a beta folder at:

<arma2install>/expansion/beta

If you just remove that folder, all beta versions are gone and you're back at 1.62

Yeah, I searched on BIS last night and i believe Sickboy mentioned the same idea to someone who had a similar issue, so I tried it, and when I use my CO shortcut or the ACE2 shortcut, I receive the following error message.
nO ENTRY "BIN\CONFIG_BINCFGINGAMEUI/MPTABLESHADOW
No pun intended, but that's all Greek to me.I've never seen that before so I have no idea on how to correct it, if it even can be corrected.

Added 4 minutes later:

After that, the game crashes and i get Error compiling pixel shader PSSpecularrAlpha,o as an error message as well.

Added 3 minutes later:

And finally, I get this message which puts me right bck to where i was after this all started.
Error Creating Direct3D 9 Graphical Engine

Sounds like one big screw-up actually. But the BI forums are full of threads about the mptableshadow and PSSpecularAlpha problem.

Take a look here.

Gotcha, was kinda hoping to avoid digging through page after page in hope of finding an answer. However, atm I am just reinstalling OA overtop and seeing if that does anything before I dig.

Most of them with solutions are Steam users who just had to start steam or the game as admin.

What you could eventually try is removing your user profile and create a completely new one. Also remove the ArmA2OA.cfg in your profile folder.

Well, its running now, however, when i load ACE I get the following
Include file x\cba\main\script_macros_common.hpp not found

I had this issue in the past but forget where I found that .hpp file at.

Added 42 seconds later:

I did delete CBA and reinstalled but still got that message

ACE2 needs CBA, and with the newest CBA you need to load all 3 folders. This is my current ACE2 mod shortcut:

-mod=BAF;PMC;ACR;@CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@ACE;@ACEX;@ACEX_USNavy;@ACEX_RU

Hmmm, they're all there still in the directory.

Stupid question, have you tried to update ace2 via Six-updater already to make sure you have everything that is required?

Not really an expert for that, I maybe use it 3 times per year if at all.

And somehow I think Fox will kick our asses soon for abusing this thread for that. :-D

When it first came out, I did the ix updater and had all sorts of issues that, in all fairness, did get fixed. But there was a long time where i wasn't doing any gaming so, when I got back into it and tried updating it, I had issues again, so, I just dumped it. Then the ACE Team released the Stable ersion in Mod form so, that I downloaded like any other modd and just pasted it into my directory and after that, I was fine until the past week.

But, there is good news, somehow the hpp files were strewn about and not in the X\addons\main folder, there actually wasn't even a main folder. I just had to create one and than searched my pc, found all the .hpp files cut thm out and placed them into the main folder I just created and wham! Everything is A OK!
It loads up, no mesages so it looks like Iam good to go, only problem is, I'm too tired to actually use it right now. *TIRED*
As for Fox, %) perhaps we should delete any material from this thread so as to no incur his wrath! :-D

But hey, thanks again. Much appreciated!

Added 3 minutes later:

Actually, i'm not so sure there is anything to delete. zThe issue is relative to the thread, we just added a little conversation. If there's something he doesn't think should be here, I'm sure he'll let me know and then I will delete whatever it is.
