I do agree steam is useless, I would much rather have the hard copy and no ties, heres the link to dl BAF on steam but i think it only allows you to download it if you have bought OA with them (like i said earlier they try to tie you in all the time) as I haven't it shows up with "Downloadable Content: Requires the base game ARMA II: Operation Arrowhead on Steam in order to play."

"The Arma 2: British Armed Forces is the addon for Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead and/or Arma 2: Combined Operations. It can not be played seperately and does require the original game in order to be played."

For the DLC (from steam), it probably requires the steam version, if there is difference with the physical copy, cause for example, there is no difference between box & steam copy for APB.

the A2:BAF Sprocket version works fine with A2:OA and A2:CO from STEAM
