Hello guys.
I m totally n00b when comes to addons+Server so..
i want my team's server to "allow" players with J.S.R.S. sound mod.
What should i do?
Do i have to install the J.S.R.S. ..or..
Anyways please explain me the procedure..and if there is already a similar open topic..please
forgive me,i couldn't find it..

Ehm..sorry but..it didn't help much :/
So do i have to necessarily install the JSRS sound mod to server,to allow players to join with this mod?
I know there is a server option to allow any kind of mods..but we want to keep client mods under "control"-so
besides "vanilla" we want to allow players with JSRS.

Don't worry, be Happy ! My english is a disaster :p

So, you want to allow the JSRS and nothing else.
This addons is signed ?
If yes, put the .bikey in Keys folder (main installation folder) and try ! If it still doesn't work, make a try with the addons installed on the server.

Make sure the server is running with -mod=@JSRS as well as making sure the key file is in place and the server is configured to verify signatures.

Also, both of you have fine English :)

I dont think you have to add the mod to your modline at all. Just install the keys for this addon when you use "verify signatures" and thats it.
A soundmod does not change the AI/gameplay etc in anyway so only a client needs to install it if he wants to use it, the server can just do with the key.

How i can distinguish in the future what addons need to be installed on server-and what
addons just need the key? :/

Everything should be loaded on the server specifically to avoid that kind of confusion. While the server might not "need" it, it prevents you from running into this kind of thing later and not loading something you need because you'd gotten used to not loading mods.

I am no server admin and am not running an Arma server at all and have no experience with it the past year (before I did), but I disagree with the above. It servers no purpose to install those addons, they are unneeded and only take up space. So, why would you do unnecassary things? I fully understand things should be kept simple but adding every addon you allow to the server as well without there being a need for it does not sound like the right administrating if you ask me.

Only install addons which need to be installed for your mission or need to run on the server as well since they change something in the game like AI like the Zeus AI mod, or ACE as it changes the game totally. Soundmods, replacement packs etc have no purpose to be installed on the server as well as it does not influence the default gameplay.

If a serveradmin disagrees with me I happily stand corrected, but this is my view of it :-)

You're right Fox, only the strict necessary have to be installed on a server, no less, no more to save resources.

Hi all,

I m new on forums but not on website.

But i ve got a problem of with J.SR.S. mod, no satchel appears on screen, like mine... And the Skorpion isn't find when i 'am on a server....

Do you know this problem? And the patch???

Alright, so to fully understand what is going on here, unless it alters basic game play, all you need to install is the key.

So I am under the assumption that:

Using rangers as my units which only changes the uniform -- "ONLY INSTALL KEY".

or run Zeus AI, which changes the AI behaviors, and functions/Gameplay -- "INSTALL ADDON".

Just the same as the original author of this post, I am brand new to running an ARMA Server but would like some addons running, if you could just let me know if my above assumptions are correct or incorrect, so I know which glide path to follow.

Does this stop people that don't have this mod enabled to be kicked? What do I do if I want both non-jsrs players and jsrs players?
