Last night I downloaded and installed GreySky, a new campaign released for ArmA II. I did about five minutes of the first mission then had to leave. When I returned tonight to load the game, I am told that "You cannot play/edit this mission. It is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted.caair_e,cawheeled_e_old_bike.

I have absolutely no idea what this means as I have deleted nothing. I have had similar problems with Harvest Red load games in the past but haven't played it for a while. There is a brief error message that appears whenever I load the game referring to something to do with an "old bike" but I do not know which mod or part of the vanilla game it is supposed to be from. How can the content have been deleted if I haven't touched the game's files since last night?

This is a persistent problem and stops me playing the game properly, any help is greatly appreciated.

I am running CBA, ACE_2, ACEX and SLX along with the GreySky campaign mod and the Black Ops/Mercenaries units mod.

Disable all your custom addons which are not required by the campaign/mission, restart, save and see if that fixes the issue. If so one of the mods you use is causing it.

Thanks. I will try that, there are a few I don't need I guess. I appreciate the help Foxhound.

Added 51 minutes later:

Nope no dice, the addons are all gone except those necessary for running the campaign. Very irritating. I don't even know what the 'OldBike' is supposed to be from?

deleted.caair_e,cawheeled_e_old_bike.

These are vanilla OA files to the game, caair is self explanitory while e_old_bike is the takistani bike with arrowhead, also why are you running ACE2 and SLX dont they conflict? seems pointless running both

Added 3 minutes later:

Also unless the mod states to use a required addon, dont launch the mission with one, as it was made with the vanilla game, any addons used with it may cause the problem you now have.

Two suggestions:

1. Re-download the mission and replace the old mission

2. Re-install Operation Arrowhead or CO whatever your running (only do this is the first suggestion doesnt work)

I am no longer running ACE and SLX, was a mistake when making different versions of the game. I do not have Arrowhead or Combined Operations so I am not sure why it has the OldBike in it. I will re-download the latest version of the mission and start again.

Well, is the mission an Arrowhead mission? that will be why your getting the error. Perhps the author made the mission with combined ops and placed a bike in it for visual fx

Nope, it's an ArmA II mission, I checked to make sure before downloading it. I have the same problem with Harvest Red and I'm not sure why as I don't use Arrowhead yet. I know it'll be something to do with the mods I've used in the past. I am looking at the KPFS_characters addon now to see what it is, the error messages keep saying it requires the oldbike thing to work.

Do you update ace via the six updater? If you do that could be the problem, as ACE for ArmA II stopped updating after 1.3.0.377 i think it is.

No. I'm not familiar with six updater, I'm afraid. I'm relatively new to ArmA II modding and updating, I mainly just intall ACE updates when they're posted along with fixes and new features.

Very strange problem you have, alls I can recommend for now is going with my second option and re-installing the game.

Can you link the mission?

Yes. But I have just realised a huge blunder, I have posted this topic in the OA section of the forums when it is an ArmA II only problem. I will send you the link but sorry for wasting your time if this is like totally irrelevant to Arrowhead troubleshooting.

No problem the thread can be moved.

PM the author to ask whether he made it with ARMA2 Standalone or Combined Ops, he may have just put in the oldbike by mistake or he used it to ride around to check things.

Yes. I have just tried to run Harvest Red and the vanilla scenarios and same thing, they work but when I save and exit, re-loading is stopped because the bike isn't there. It might be that even if the bike was, something else would be missing, there could be a catalogue of things that the game thinks are missing. How would I move this threat to the regular ArmA II Troubleshooting forum?
