i did like the campaign in bf2. took shelter in a house and they kept pounding it with rpg till bout all was left was me in an inner bathroom left standing. no co-op is a bummer tho..
moh world at war was cool assaulting the reichstag and the jungle map for co-op.

Sorry, a little off topic ... thedog, thought you were in Korea mate? lol

Anyways, this game is going to rock, you have all played BF2 and you know what its like! the only
downside to it was the online player count! well ive heard on gametrailers podcast that they
are scrapping that and going to let it be a free for all who joins etc,.. also there will be a mass
600+ world wide weapons to use straight off! and there going to have an online armory where you
can use game credits to buy new weapons to add to the remaining 600. And another thing that will be
in this is the online player profiles like in BF2, but with more and more content and info etc.

BF3 is going to have an extensive campaign and single player options, something that BF2 didnt have!
BF2 looked and aimed at the MP community! but BF3 is going to be doing the lot! the AI and
graphics engine is a new concept in gaming, and is top secret at the moment! but there saying that
the ai aspect of gaming will take you to new levels of realism gaming!

Cant wait for this game! I could go on more ... but ill let you guys add stuff! lol

yep still here, scheduled for a-stan this year. anyways, 600+ weapons? o.0 i like the online profile thing and if you can buy weapon upgrades (minor upgrades) and like gear (flashlight, laser pointer, different sights) that would be cool.

It looks disappointing to me. This, to me, looks like COD 4 with better (but unrealistic) graphics and destruction. I'm only 20 but I think I might have grown out of running and gunning. Besides, even though BF tries to force some level of teamwork, BF players almost never use it. Arma on the other hand is very very good. Most arma players are looking to be a part of some sort of teamwork, regardless of clans etc... I will wait for the in-game youtube videos of the beta at least before I spend money on BF3. I also have a very low opinion of EA. The BFBC2 stats server hasn't been working properly since the release of the vietnam expantion, and not even all the weapons are in the stat page. I can deal with bugs, I can deal with a LOT of bugs; but EA fails to fix things not because they are busy, but because they are too cheap to buy a decent server. EA is a prime example of how not to run a game. And the BF series is not it's only testimony. I came from there to find something where the tempermental kids were not. Yes, thats pretty much the only reason I bought arma; the reviews said "it's slow paced". Although the reviews are wrong in my opinion, (its only as slow as you make it), I found so much more in arma that was missing in BF. Needless to say, I will only buy this game if the youtube videos and reviews say it's "EPIC". Otherwise I'll be having fun in arma where ppl don't cry or feel better because their padded stats.

@Rick- You make a very good point. I still have good hope for BF3, because unlike COD, BF has a good reputation of making games that aren't the same as the last. I'm in an online clan on the xbox (It started before I knew arma existed lol) and we all like the idea of tactical urban combat. So this looks like a dream to us. The maps will be huge, huge enough to support jets. I can't wait.

I too enjoy some good (virtual) tactical urban combat, it's just that the tactical usually just isn't there; although being in a clan most likely helps.

The graphics look great, although as Rick said the destruction is over the top (unrealistic). It needs to be to toned down.

Man! I could remember when Red Faction first came out and everyone loved it has it had destructable
environments and to me with what we have seen already, Battlefield3 has not gone over the top as we
have seen in the videos etc, its looks awesome! and I can only see this game being a TOP if not the best
game in years! dont forget that the Battlefield makers have been in this series of games for a few years
now, multiplayer is there speciality and id find it hard to see or say that they will fail with this!

Cant believe alot of the negativity in this thread, and another thing that your all forgetting is that its
not even close to release yet! its got a long way off! just imagine what else and the many more improvements
that will be made! rock on BF3.

OH MY... Have you seen the 12 minutes gameplay???? Basicly it is made of all that gameplays of "Fault Line" linked together without cuts... I can't wait, i really can't fu****************** wait!!!!
This game will rock!!!
And for destruction it will not be like Red Faction Guerrilla (i think that is really good but not too realistic...) but it'll be AWESOME!!!!!
I've played Bad Company 2 and the Frostbite is something really well done and can't wait for Frostbite 2...
Will you play it on pc? Or consoles?
I'd like to play it on my pc but it will kill itself... I mean I have a really good graphics card (ATI Radeon HD 5750) but the CPU is ehm... 2.00 Ghz lol If BATTLEFIELD 3 will require such performances like ArmA II well... I'll take it on console.

You might be right with EA and the "cheap" question but remember that EA is the publisher... DICE is the producer/developer with the Frostbite and the second one.

@DeltaForce:
I realize that DICE is the developer, and I do like their material. DICE has a fairly long history of innovation in the field. However, nothing ruins a good game like a bad host. It's like a server admin, you can be playing the best game ever, but bad admins can ruin it in ten seconds. For me, gameplay is first and foremost. DICE decides on what potential the game has, EA decides how short the game will fall from that potential; at least that's how I see it.
Another thing is the anti-cheat system that BF uses. Punkbuster. It just does not work. This can again be directly and fully blamed on EA. Did you know that EA will not ban accounts that have been reported by EvenBalance? EA does not work with Punkbuster whatsoever, it's just a brand that they pay for to make people think "this game is safe".
The only thing that can possibly happen to people caught by Punkbuster is getting banned from a specific server. And really, the liklihood of being caught is laughable. Basically the weight of punishment and probability of being caught, to benifits of hacking ratio is way over to the hacking side. This causes server admins to be overly suspicious of hackers, and doing a good run with 40/5 K/D will earn you nothing but a ban.
BF is a stat-based game. It's how they retain the community. People will play to improve their stats, and as such, will keep playing to be on top. Personally, I don't care for that system, even though I do well in it; more importantly however, is that the stats are never correct. If multiplayer is EA's specialty, then why would they be so amature as to have a malfunctioning stat system in a game that relies on stats to maintian it's player base? Absurd is what it is!
All these things take away from the actual, all important gameplay. This is what I mean when I say that DICE determines the ceiling of the game, and EA decides how good the game will actually be.
Every aspect of a game is intertwined. The community, the devs, the hosts, and the game itself are all nearly equal components to sucess. Although the BF franchise enjoys a fair bit of success, I really don't know how. If I knew, I could be rich by putting out junk with the one magical thing that makes people go pick it up.
BF is a good game, but that's about all it has going for it IMO.
P.S.: Not everything here is directed towards DeltaForce, I just got sidetracked :)

I am very macho.
