I'm kind skeptical. A new game with hopefully a lot of new features. GREAT!

But my skepticism arrive on the bounds that how are they actually going to make a new game bugfree when they are unable to sort out the bugs the game have now? In hope of not swearing in church, but perhaps the game we could be looking forward to next year is Flashpoint2 (with vid link). I don't care personally if it's BI or Codemasters, but if one of them could make the perfect Milsim game, I would go for the prefect one.

That vid which i posted pics of don't look right to me and i never trust video's anyways.

Problem with Arma is they keep adding stuff and not fixing stuff first.

In the end i am more skeptical of OFP2 than Arma.

Since Arma 2 is game 2 and game 2 has been in development for a long while already (compared to arma only a short time) I think we dont have to worry to much about arma's bugs.
Game 2 is/was made with the much more improved version of their engine as far as I know, while arma only was build on a lesser improved engine. I think many of the bugs in arma will always stay there, the only way to get rid of them is by playing arma 2 :)

Offcourse as always.......arma 2 will have its own bugs, but thats a different story.
If they manage to make arma 2 as buggy as arma than BIS really have an engine problem and if thats the case they have a real big problem.

But........seeing the improvements in VBS1 over OFP, the improvements in arma over VBS1 and what has been said about game 2...........I feel positive.
I rather wait and see what we will get than join the large crowed of people crying even before knowing things (not pointing to you but at the 18 pages of sorry ass crying in the BIS forums).

Lets see what the future brings us. I am looking forward to see more info about the game :)

I guess Fox is right, it just bugged me that compareing the expansion to ARMA 2, just seemed like they saved all the features people wanted for ARMA 2 and gave us the expansion with a thing or two to keep us quiet.

Lets hope for the best :yes

18 pages huh? :D

Bis are not fully working on QG, there is another studio, i dont know its name its on idea's site.
Maybe they were working on "arma 2" all the time but they ran out of money and ripped it to arma 1.

Game 2 is old talk.. Arma turned into game 2.
My understanding is that bis are going to take the Arma engine and build on it.

Maybe they will improve the vehicle simulation, maybe they will improve the a.i, thats what i expect of Arma II. Like they said, the engine is always under continuous development.
VBS'ers should start saving for VBS3 now :eek.

Heatseeker : My understanding is that bis are going to take the Arma engine and build on it.

But I always understood the arma engine was behind (in development) the game2 engine so wouldnt this be a step back?
I just hope they use their time in a good way and fix some of the problems arma has and make sure its all working just great with arma 2.
I rather have a smaller good game with less bugs and nasty features (like the damage thing) and pay more money for a bigger expansion.

Yeah, I actually never thought of that.
BIA will want to use the Arma 2 engine/features as well and expand it more to make it VBS.....
But lets not make this a VBS descussion, if you want we can talk/discuss it in its own forum cause its defintaly something worth thinking about ;)

I allways wondered how one can release a game that is so buggy and disappointingly just-like-OFP like ARMA1 was. Just think of the single player campaign - it was a bad joke. Now it makes perfect sense. It seems that ARMA1 had to be released before it's time to make some money to be able to continue developing a game that is now called ARMA2 but was intended to be the real ARMA1. And somehow I have the feeling that the marketing ppl at BIS decided to adopt EA's marketing policy which is letting the user pay for every single new lousy vehicle or bugfix or minor new feature or whatever. I think BIS at least should have given off this Queen Gambit addon for free as some kind of apology to the community for letting ppl pay for a game's beta version. I just feel like they owe me something.

'ArmA 2 - The Ultimate Military Simulation'

Lol - that sounds familiar. 'No really, this time it's ultimate, I promise. Really.'

It's not that I'm not happy about this announcement - though I'd prefer if they finish ArmA I and Queen's gambit before they concentrate on something else.

They started Game 2 (ArmA 2) WAY before ArmA and QG...

Either way, it shouldn't make a difference. To me now, it seems to me that BIS are going for the money. :O_o

Like KameradBot said, we have all paid for a BETA, thats not even half finished! Before they even think about making the next version and charging people for it, they should fix everything in this in ArmA FIRST! Even queens gambit, I think that takes the biscuit! Charging people for a couple islands and addons? That the community will spend all their time and effort making for free! Where will ArmA be if all the addons makers out there decided to charge for making mods??

I personally wont be buying Queens Gambit, because I know some smart ass will rip the addons out and make them standalone addons. Also I feel that ive paid enough for a BETA. But hey thats my choice ;)
