Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead Script Request Topic

Ever really wanted a script that has never been made before? Don't have time to make one or not sure how to make one? Looking for a specidic script which you think exists already but can not find it? You can post your requests here, then maybe one day you may well see something you requested actually in-game or at least get some decent feedback, or maybe others can give you a link where to find the script what you are looking for.

- Requests should be informative, tidy, include reference material for research and development purposes.

- Do not bump your request, no exception. Discussing a request is of course allowed but when we see useless posts are added to bring it on top the request will be removed.

- The fact we have a Script request thread does not mean you should not search for scripts you need/would like to have to see if they are already made. When its obvious you didn't bother to search your request will be removed without further notice.

All script requests which do not apply to the rules as explained in this post will be deleted without further notice every now and than!!

I like the idea of a script thread. A script that I would like to see is one to make AI soldiers find cover and return fire when they enter combat, instead of just going prone out in the open and getting gunned down in like 5 seconds. Ugh, I hate turning around and seeing all of my AIs dead ]:->

@DeltaHunter24

This is coming soon, ive heard a lot of good things about this script and its bound to do as your wanting
by the sounds of it:

  • better situational awareness: depending on evaluation of opposing force the AI group will decide whether to (1) hit the ground and observe threat, (2) assault, (3) engage carefully, (4) advance stealthy, (5) keep position or (6) tactically retreat;
  • AI group does not rush into enemy, unless it's outnumbering the opposition;
  • Better group cohesion: AI units try to cover each other and work as a group;
  • Groups communication: AI group leaders share informations with nearby friendly groups;
  • Groups cohordination: AI group leaders try to cohordinate action with other nearby groups;
  • Support: AI group issues calls for artillery strikes or CAS;
  • Logistics: AI group requests pickup / extraction;
  • Better formation handling: AI group chooses afitting formation depending on direction and size of the opposing force and/or environment;
  • Better unit speed and stance handling: speed and stance depend on enemy numbers, size and distance of opposing force;
  • Minor feature: AI group deploys smoke when falling back;
  • Minor feature: AI units leave depleted AT weapons on the ground;
  • Minor feature: Group command automatically switched if leader is heaviliy wounded or hurt to legs;

  • Plus more ... so all to do now is wait for its release, hehe.

    I'm back! Is there a script to make the AI units exit a helicopter all at once instead of one at a time?

    Have you sent him a PM? or better still, why not open his mission and see what script it is? if you want to
    use it in your coming missions etc, dont forget that you will need rights from him first before release.

    Does anyone know of an existing script that would determine if there is a clear line of sight between two units or points on the map? I am trying to simulate a Ground Surveillance Radar similar to the Blighter Radar

    Afraid not.

    These might be of interest.

    Also, I thought about using a laser marker of somekind.

    Or, you could actually script your own pinging system with objects, but that could be a lot of work.

    Thanks for the links, I never heard of the laserTarget one before. I will have to look into it a bit more, the other ones are too subjective - based on the units "perceptions".

    I already know how to identify any units within a certain range so I will probably go off of a detected units known position and the position of the GSR - I'll calculate the height every 5 meters or so between the two points and, using a little trig, determine if the surface or any objects would interfere with the calculated slope. Not too sure about the trees yet.

    I'm kind of surprised no one has developed a GSR yet, (any ACE guys bored ;-) )
    I have seen the AWAC scripts but they have the same limitations as above.

    Thanks for the suggestions, I will look a little more at the laser stuff.

    # Pheonix :Not too sure about the trees yet.

    You could use nearestobjects to detect how many trees are around the target and their relative position. Be subtle though, because I've read those certain scripting commands are known for causing a bit of cpu use when used massively.

    I am trying to find a undead script I can use in OA.

    I have arma 2 free so I cant use that, but I do have the full version of Arma 2 Reinforcements.

    I have been looking around and can only find scripts for the older map.
    I have found some missions with zombies for OA, but can't "un PBO" the files to have a look.. Is there a script or link somewhere I have overlooked?

    I have been looking for the helicopter repel script for some time now. I would like to drop units off without landing the helicopter. If anybody could help me figure this out I would greatly appreciate it..
