You make a nice work daveygary.

I like your Rangers because they look so realistic and "impressive", I can only can say thank you for this.

Are you a Ranger? From where do you get the "realtextues" for the Uniforms and the equipment?

Greets,

Biwi

I am not in the rangers I am in the 101st airborne at the moment but I will be going to rip ( ranger school ) when I get back from deployment! The uniforms and gear come from pictures of my own gear and my artistic talent with Photoshop in creating textures from scratch. Sorry for being vague but it's crazy late at night after a crazy day lol!
Thanks for the positive comments I am glad to hear people still appreciate my work!
peace out, daveygary.

I can't appreciate the vanilla units anymore yours look way too good! They look quite similar to the units that are going to be in ArmA 3 consider that a compliment :D I'm sure any person going against a soldier wearing these uniforms and gear knows that they don't have a chance.

Hey everyone, just a quick guide on how to get the chopper crew with masks to work.

First put your crew of 4 men in the editor (im using 4 as the script is only for 4 men just now).

[Important] Blue is the name of the unit. Red is the init line you need of each named unit.

Pilot_Visor: this setIdentity "Pilot_Visor"

Crew_Chief: this setIdentity "Crew_Skull"

Door_Gunner: this setIdentity "Door_Gunner"

Rear_Gunner: this setIdentity "Rear_Gunner"

Now open up notepad or any other word editing program you use and copy past the below on to it:

////////////////////////Script_by_DarkXess////////////////////////
class CfgIdentities
{
class Pilot_Visor //Name this what you want to help remember which helmet it is
{
name="Pilot 1"; //Name this what you want also
face="Face03"; //I just picked different faces for the heck of it
glasses="Tactical_Sunglass_visor"; //This is DaveyGary's helmet type
speaker="Male01EN"; //I changed the voice for each one
pitch=1.0;
};
class Crew_Skull
{
name="Crew Skull";
face="Face61";
glasses="Tactical_Sunglass_pilot";
speaker="Male04EN";
pitch=1.0;
};
class Crew_Chief
{
name="Crew Chief";
face="Face53";
glasses="Tactical_Sunglass_crew";
speaker="Male02EN";
pitch=1.0;
};
class Door_Gunner
{
name="Door Gunner";
face="Face87";
glasses="Tactical_Sunglass_crew";
speaker="Male05EN";
pitch=1.0;
};
class Rear_Gunner
{
name="Rear Gunner";
face="Face82";
glasses="Tactical_Sunglass_crew";
speaker="Male03EN";
pitch=1.0;
}
};

Save this as "Description.ext" then your all done. Preview the mission and you will now see
your crew members with face different type of facemasks according to the script above.

The parts in the description.ext called "face" and "voice" you can put your own face's
and voice's from the game if you know what they are and also if you do wish to change them.

Link's to helpful pages: CfgIdentities (anyone know the voices link then please let me know, thanks)

So I am back from my nice old deployment and back on here excited to see what i have missed, i unfortunately due to various factors cannot work on my models anymore but i have a colleague working on them to iron out any bugs and fine tune them, more news will come in the future. Thanks for all the positive support and the help the community has been providing to help keep my models alive. Peace out all!!!

Davegary, welcome back. Thanks for your service to this country.
Would you or your colleague be willing to do ACU versions of your current Rangers? The only realistic ACU rangers I can find are in the TF86 Temp pack which only a select few have the download link or file. But back on topic, Arma 2 is lacking some realy realistic ACU rangers and you seem to have the best model around for this. If you don't want to do this thats fine, I just wanted to toss it out there for you or your colleague to ponder.

Welcome back dude! How did the tour go? And your training for that matter. Shame you can't continue development on the units but hopefully that's down to a more active family life or career purposes. :-)
