I've spent the last week attempting to build a new island for Arma2 OA without success. I've followed to the letter a number of the excellent tutorials including :-

Visitor RC3 Tutorial,
http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=115754,
http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/ArmA_2_Terrain_Tutorial#Configure_Visitor_3
and the ARMA2OA Map step by step Guide using Arma2p tool

Every time I experience the same problems. I have managed to build the basic island with a height map in Visitor3, but attempting to view my island in Buldozer crashes every time. Buldozer begins to load and displays the "extruding hills and valleys" message before crashing. The arma2oa.RPT file contains the following:-

=====================================================================
== C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2oa.exe
== "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2oa.exe" -window -buldozer -addons=p:\V3addons.txt -connect=pipe\1030C,8EDB
=====================================================================
Exe timestamp: 2011/07/28 00:03:21
Current time: 2011/08/06 18:50:13

Version 1.59.79384

....then there are pages of "Item listed twice"errors examples here:-

Item str_disp_server_control listed twice
Item str_xbox_wizard_edit listed twice
Item STR_DISP_ADDON_ACTIONS_TITLE listed twice
Item STR_ADDON_ACTIONS_INSTALL_CORE listed twice
Item STR_ADDON_ACTIONS_INSTALL_MOD listed twice
Item STR_DISP_ADDON_ACTIONS_ACTIONS listed twice
Item STR_ADDON_ACTIONS_PLAY_MISSION listed twice
.....etc, etc

Then the RPT footer:-

-------------------------------------------------------
Exception code: C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at 00912938

Strangely the Resolution quoted (1212x909x32) does not match my game resolution of 1400x900x32. I tried resetting the resolution in game to 720x480 in an attempt to get Buldozer to load but it crashed in the same way quoting a resolution of 670x505x32. Wierd!

I desperately want to get past this hurdle so I can go on to develop some ideas of expanding my Arma2 world, but at the moment I'm banging my head against the wall in frustration. Surely it shouldn't be this difficult? Does anybody have any ideas to get me started?

Thanks

Added 23 hours 48 minutes later:

Issue resolved. If anybody is interested this is the process I followed

1. Deleted everything on the P drive,
2. Did a fresh installation of the BI Tools (BI_Editing_Tools_2_5_1.zip).
3. Ran Arma2p to extract all the pbo's
4. Deleted P:\buldozer.exe
5. Copied my arma2oa.exe into P: drive.

Did a quick test in Visitor3 and and everything seems to be working, no crashing of Buldozer. Hooray!

Thanks for listening.

;-)

Thanks guys, I'm pleased that I finally managed to get the development tools running even if it did take me ten days of messing around and web surfing.

I'm fairly new to Arma2, I downloaded the Arma2Free and got hooked to buy Arma2 and OA and now I'm addicted! What I love about this sim is the fact that it is completely open-ended, the limit seems to be the developers imagination.

Cheers
