I can't seem to find any helpful answers for this. Anyways, I've owned ArmA II and OA for a while, and about six or so minutes in the game, it freezes. It's not lag, it happens on singleplayer. Doesn't crash, just freezes. It doesn't crash to my desktop, and I can alt+tab out of there fine. I was beginning to think that it was just crashing on me so I gave up, until I found out that it will actually continue to play about a minute later. It's like a pause that lasts for one to two minutes (display and sound). Pretty annoying. Other than that, I have no performance issues with it. My FPS is great, and it runs pretty well. I only have three mods installed: SLX and the Community Base Addons which are required to run them (from Armaholic). I run the games on medium-to-high settings, I've tried tons of little tweaks and fixes. I keep my computer pretty clean, there's not a lot of junk clogging my disks. All of my other games run without a problem. My specs aren't bad, I'll post them. I'm beginning to think that over-heating may be the problem, it seems as if it's running a little hot. I do regularly grab some compressed air and dust out my tower. Could this be my problem? I'm thinking about buying another fan to put in there. And before you ask, yes, all of my drivers are up-to-date. Here's my specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit
System Model: ASUS CG5270
BIOS ver 08.00.14
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 @ 2.50GHz
8GB RAM
Page File: 3004MB used, 13376MB available
GPU: GTX 550Ti (DirectX 11)
Not included in dxdiag, but I have a strong power supply with 750 watts.
Help would be much appreciated. If you need anything else go ahead and tell me. Thanks, guys.
Like I've said - I've tried a lot. Defrag, Disk Cleanup, I'm free of malware or viruses, etc..
