If you want PvP action just filter "C5" in the server browser in-game and hop on our PvP server anytime. We are on as a group from 9pm to whenever every night eastern time U.S. Some times the numbers are high and sometimes it's just a few of us. All are welcome and no mods are needed. Just A2CombinedOps. We play AAS, CTF, A&D, C&H, and some crazy original maps like "Fuel Heist" and 2 team "Prisoner Rescue" little bird CTF, "Crazy Race" it's crazy!

BIS shot themselves and the PvP community in the proverbial foot by creating the smartest, most capable AI around along with the power of scripting and the mission editor. Allot of Arma players don't even know you can play against other real players or think the game was not made for it... I really can't explain it... why all the coop servers and then they mostly all run pretty much the same kind on coop missions.

The most fun I've ever had with this game has always been playing against other real enemies.

Yes, i see alot of potential in this game. Don't get me wrong, the coop is fun as well even though i have only played a little. But the fact that you have a mission editor and can create scenarios with PvP, or any combination of people and AI has unlimited potential. I wish Red Orchestra 2 had been made with the Arma 2 engine.
Not sure if i am doing something wrong with my Steam version of the game, but does not seem to be more than about 15-20 servers every night and they are not too many people on them. Most are password protected.
I downloaded the Invasion 44 Mod and think it is fantastic, but cannot find anyone playing it online.
And thanks for the invite, will check your server out.

Added 3 minutes later:

# Foxhound : VBS2 related questions belong in the VBS thread, not anywhere else!
My question was a comparison of
VBS2 with Arma 2. So would not think the question is solely about VBS2 and not a violation of forum rules. But i will take it to the other Forum, although i do not see a VBS2 forum listed in the lobby. And as to your "!" calm down buddy, life is too short to get excited about everything.

Only 1 or 2 servers run I44 mod, and then you have to join when they are all playing or it just sits empty. When you connect has a big difference. This game is way more popular in Europe so in the afternoon for me there is a bit of PvP action (I live on west coast USA). Besides the -C5- server there IS NO OTHER PvP server in the U.S. And no you are doing nothing wrong with your game there are barely enough people that play this game at all in comparison to ALL THE OTHER FPS GAMES. Almost no U.S. citizen in this entire country knows anything about this game at all much less that they still even make computer games at all.

I wish you luck mate. The only way you are playing against other real players is to hop on C5 server or try out a Europe PvP server if your ping is low enough or start your own and wait for players on the coop servers to notice your server and then connect. If you can't tell I really hate coop and how the coop game play has absolutely freaking ruined this game.

Ah, I see you need a little guidance. So, let me start preeching from my high horse while being all excited to make sure you get my message the way I want you to get it.

1 - do not discuss our moderation in public! (to be sure you see it I used a "!" again)
2 - follow instructions given, no VBS2 discussion means no VBS2 discussion. Wether you want to compare it, enlighten it, review it I dont care. Its all the same for me!
3 - Do not tell me to calm down........... *WASSUP*
