[Just to clear up confusion, I refer to Operation Arrowhead and OA, Operation Arrowhead, Arrowhead, and ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead. I refer to the vanilla game, ARMA 2 (Not Arrowhead)as ArmA 2 or just ArmA.]

Hey, this is my first (and probably last) post.
I was playing Arrowhead today and thought "Wouldn't it be awesome to fly the Osprey over Takistan?" so I did a bit of research and wasn't able to find any info on the subject of using the ArmA 2 (Not ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead) files in Arrowhead. I tested it myself by installing the ArmA 2 files (Pbo files and such) into Arrowhead as you would do with a mod, but it didn't seem to work as I couldn't find any of the ArmA 2 units in the editor.

So I was wondering, is this even possible? I've seen several mods porting Armed Assault units (and even the entire island of Saharani) into ArmA 2 and Arrowhead. So judging by that and my [very limited] knowledge of how the game operates and uses it's files, it shouldn't be too difficult to get it working the way I would like.

Anyway, what I wanted to know was this:

1) Is this even possible?
2) If so, how might it be done?
3) Was I correct in assuming it would be done like with a mod? (That would mean my stupidity showed itself and I screwed up, which isn't all too far fetched)
4) Would running the game like this cause any kind of instability? (If so, I might just stick to not doing it)
And 5) If this is possible, would it be a better idea to port ArmA 2 into OA or OA into ArmA 2?

Thanks for you help, ArmA 2 community. Also, sorry if I posted this in the wrong place, just tell me and I'll delete this thread and repost where it belongs. Again, this was my first (and most likely last) post.
Thanks again.

-Tyler

I did look around for answers to these questions, by the way. I'm not sure if I'm incompetent with the internet or what, but I couldn't find anything close to answers. [End of Edit]

I guess you never heard of Arma 2: Combined Operations (=Arma 2 + Arma 2: OA)?
When you already have Arma 2 installed simply install Arma 2: OA inside it, the installer will pick the correct location automatically.

Visit my family webshop desteigerhoutshop.nl.

"Arma 2: Combined Operations is a bundle of Arma 2 and Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead. These are two separate downloads. To integrate Arma 2 and Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead into Arma 2: Combined Operations, please install Arma 2 first, and then install Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead into Arma 2 directory."

Bless you my son.

Oh, wow, thanks. I bought Combined Ops, but I thought it was just a package. Nothing ever said you could run them together. Thanks guys. I always knew I could rely on the ArmA community for friendly help. Trying that now.

Would the combined ops thing be when I click to play ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead and this pops up:

I always figured that just launched vanilla ArmA 2. Anyway, I hope this thread can clear up confusion for anybody else wanting to do this. Thanks again.
