Hello,

I have all the ArmA games through Steam. From ArmA Cold War Assault to ArmA 2 PMC. I was playing the games just fine for a long time and then I realized I wasnt using mod folders for stuff I was downloading. I was just putting all the stuff I was downloading into the addons folder with the rest of the games files. After realizing that I need to stop doing that I decided to try to clean out the addons folder by removing all the stuff I added before. I wasn't sure if I got them all so I just decided to re install all my ArmA 2 titles.

Well this is where I think I messed up my games. ArmA 2 works fine except when I run the "verify integrity of game cache" it keeps telling me that I am missing 1 file and it will be required. I have tried deleting it and re installing the game a few times but it doesn't fix it. But ArmA 2 does work thou. I have run the game and it works just fine. When I re downloaded ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead, it worked at first but when I ran the "verify integrity of game cache" it brings up a message that its also missing 1 file that is required. Now I can't get ArmA 2 OA to work at all. It wont even run ArmA 2 OA CO.

Anybodys assistance would be greatly appreciated

Thank you

I have Steam versions of both and I get that message when I verify game cache.. it doesn't seem to affect my game in any way.

I would try installing both games again (if your current install is broken)..completely remove all Arma including registry entries and folders... install Arma 2, run it once, install OA, run it once. Right-click on OA in Steam Library and launch as Combined Ops.

I have deleted the game several times and re installed it. I also have gone into the steam files and deleted it completely from my computer, but it still wont work.

At first everything was running fine. The only problem was that the ArmA 2 OA CO wasn't working. ArmA 2 OA CO wont do anything. Its almost like its broken. Now ArmA 2 OA wont work at all. Every time I try to run ArmA 2 OA .exe it brings up this message "No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgInGameUI/MPTable.shadow\". Then a second error message comes up and it says "Error compiling pixel shader PSSpecularAlpha:0"

I don't know why that when I re download the game that it doesn't replace whatever files are missing.

Thank you for helping

Here, some topics for you:
- http://www.armaholic.com/forums.php?m=posts&q=14850 (partially solved)
- http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?101808-OA-mod-starting-issue (solved!)

I hope the solution is in one of them, it looks to mainly be a shortcut error causing it.
