ever wanted to know how to slow the jet down so you can watch it easier?
step 1: set a waypoint just infront of the 'flying' jet/plane, set the speed to limited.
Step 2: set your other waypoints where ever eg. over a town where you are. then set a waypoint and change the speed back to normal or full so that it doesnt drop out of the sky, if you want it to do numerous flyby's just keep the speed on limited.

want it to fly at certain height? doesnt spawn at that height and has to climb?
step 1: place your helo/jet/place in the unit's init put
this setposATL [getpos this select 0,getpos this select 1,700];this flyInHeight 700
^ this will make it spawn at 700 above ground and then fly at 700 ^
step 2: set waypoints like normal.

there you have it, simple ways to change the behaviour of flying vehicles.

Set Speed

Set Altitude

Wish there was a way to make planes go faster like in real life. I have asked this question a long
time ago about how a jet/plane whatever comes in to attack at a ridiculous speed and its way to easy
to be shot down. Unfortunately its the game engine and cant be achieved :-(

the f-111 in the anzac mod can hit pretty high speeds, not realistic but nearly the highest in arma 2, in dives i've hit 1300 using afterburner /: but too hard to hit targets

Rather than start a new thread I figure I'd try kicking life into this one first! :)

I want my chopper (for one mission) to crawl between waypoints.. The idea is I'm the gunner in an Apache, we're circling a firefight at a distance of about 800 meters lending fire support (god I wish I could yank the rockets for 8 more hellfires!). I have the waypoints but even at limited we're moving toooo fast for accurate gunnery (at least for MY gunnery). I'd like to slow the pilot down to a nice gentle orbit.

Can that be done? Is there a gentle orbit script kicking around I don't know about? :)

Thanks!

To slow the chopper name it heli and place this in the helis init or waypoint

null  = [heli,30,true] spawn {_air = _this select 0;_speed = _this select 1; airslow = true; while {alive _air and airslow} do {_air limitSpeed _speed;sleep 0.1;};};

when you want it to return to normal speed just use airslow = false; in a trigger or waypoint

I'm not sure how smooth it will be though.

It worked and it didn't. Each time it hit the waypoint is slowed down the set speed (30 in this case) but then sped right back up.

Thanks!

this forcespeed 30;

either use 'this' or 'heli' should work chuck that in the init of the waypoint you want and then change it back to lets say 150 for the apache ... or 120
