Hey I just watched the example of the artillery script and in the readme it said that i can easly add this to my missions. Well I looked at the missions folder and all missions I make are .pbo files and all examples are in folders amnd there is only a mission.sqm file. So how can I add my mission in there or add the artillery stuff into my missions?

Ok I am at home now.

When you go into the Armed Assault editor and you save a mission (place 1 unit on the map and save it), that mission will be saved (by default) in your "C:\Documents and Settings\xxxxxxxx\My documents\ArmA\missions\" folder.
Now if you want to add scripts or other files to your mission just navigate to that folder and add all the things you want.

Now, as an example lets import the Artillery template into your saved mission. Lets call your mission "test1".

Add the artillery example mission that comes with the script to your "C:\Documents and Settings\xxxxxxxx\My documents\ArmA\missions\" folder.

Load up your mission called test1. On the right select "merge" and check that list until you find the artillery example mission from Mr Murray. Select it and click ok.
If all is correct you will now see the triggers/actors etc from the exmaple mission in your mission.
But offcourse thats not all, you need to manually add the scripts and other files to your mission folder.
Go to "C:\Documents and Settings\xxxxxxxx\My documents\ArmA\missions\Artillerie-Example_Mr_Murray.Sara" and copy the following files into your own mission folder (test1)

WestAri folder
EastAri folder
Sounds folder
Description.ext

Now the artillery should work in your own created mission.

Instead of using the "merge" button you can also use copy and paste to copy the data from Mr. Murrays mission to your mission.

The above is for you editing your own missions. If you want to view missions made by other people or just the official missions you will need to unpbo the mission files.
To unpbo the mission files you can use this tool.
Download that tool, copy the exe file to a folder where you would like to and copy the mission you want to extract to the same folder (I use a default folder where I unpbo all missions, so I just have the tool there, and if needed I add mission files there to unpbo it).
After extracting the mission file you can see all files and use them.

I hope this short explanation gives you a good start.
If you have any more questions or something isnt clear just ask and I will try to explain better :)

"C:\Documents and Settings\xxxxxxxx\My documents\ArmA\missions\" will only appear if you have saved a mission in the editor.
So, have you already saved a mission in the editor? If not you wont see it.

You have to put that command in the initline of the unit. Here is a pic so you can see what line I mean:

"Initialization" is the place to put all your syntaxes. Seperate each line by a ";" (without the ""offcourse)

I hope this helps. Keep asking if you want to know more :thumb

P.s. Topic moved to correct section (mission editing and scripting)
