Hi guys. Anyone having trouble with running the game after upgrading from 1.60 to 1.62? I installed the 1.62 patch as admin on my Win7 64 bit, now my armaoa.exe doesn't start up at all - the arma2oa.RPT doesn't give me any clue either (nothing gets added). My ArmaOa.exe 1.60 was running fine last night.

Thanks for your quick response. Yes, normally I run Acre, but I also tried starting the game without any mods (just running armaoa.exe), unfortunately with the same result.

Remove the dsound.dll file (simply rename it so you can easily put it back) and try again.

Oh yeah, that did it! I was already dreading the thought of a complete re-install.
Thank you so much for your quick response and solution Foxhound.

I wonder if the rumors are true that some FPS issues are fixed in the newest patch? Anyone can confirm it?

Your "dsound.dll" advice worked for me also. Thanks.

# Sakowski : I wonder if the rumors are true that some FPS issues are fixed in the newest patch? Anyone can confirm it?

What rumors? What FPS issues? Please be specific as this could be anything related to anything.

Anyone else dislike the new arrow thing when you are driving? It annoys me like crazy. Also I think if you press shift+g or control+g you see your ammo for primary and secondar weapons without opening the gear menu. That is useful when you are checking how much you actually have during a fight. Patch 1.62 was a step forward in my opinion, made the game more bareable for my computer aswell *YAHOO*

Constantly trying to figure out: what the hell is VIPER on about? ... And Jeza

after installation of this patch, ARMA 2 (Not OA or RFT, just normal ARMA 2) crashes on dedicated servers by receiving data... wtf? This happens only on dedicated server. I can join to people who host the server through the game. But on dedicated the game is crashing and dedicated server (arma2server.exe) doesn't work. It crashes too...

Patch 1.62 - Optimization of multiplayer.

Yeah, nice optimization, now multiplayer dont works :D

P.S.:

In ARMA 2 OA and RFT - all works fine.

Added 2 hours 55 minutes later:

maybe this will help:
