no, I only run the campaign with the specified addons and nothing els. I even started the campaign from the start and
got to mission 11 with the same results, I was controlling the AC130 and defended the hill after I got the radio message the talib are attacking after a while the message come thru, all clear no more insurgents in sight, so got out of the consol and got shot immediately, I'm beginning to think, that my own guys are shooting me.as I said there where no talib anywhere on the hill------ and yes ace2 does alter the game considerable it runs with it but not as it was meant to.
I have tryed with RHSMOD it runs perfectly on that.

I have everything where its supposed to be. But when I go to play this campaign. I'm able to select my difficulty. Then my computer freezes? Can someone please help me? This happens with all campaigns I install.

# headup : Sorry to hear that, not sure what else to suggest. Sounds like the mission is not playing out the way it was designed and that 98% of other players experience. Not sure if I already asked about this, but are you running only the required addons and none others? Even the most minor, unrelated mods (including JSRS, specifically for Mission 11) can have adverse effects on the experience. Outside of that, the only suggestion I can think of is un-PBO'ing the Campaign and running Missions 12 and 13 through the editor or exporting to SP scenarios. May not be worth the effort though, it's your call. *DONT_KNOW*

Yes I have to agree with headsup. ARMA is a tinkerers sim. The smallest change etc has huge conciseness for missions and campaigns. Anyway Im just saying Ive been there before and no joke to really to make sure, you really have to disable every addon or mod except the ones the campaign calls for to make absolutely sure and don't forget to backup all your saves. I know it can be frustrating but hey if a 28 year old gal can do it Im sure you can :-D Just kidding good luck and just take it slow it's not like you have to play and finish it all in a day.

Police woman by day Wife, Mother and serious gamer at night 8-) . Husband suggested my game name as Zipgun so no one would know I was a girl. Tho more importantly when I was a teen I used a more female name? Only got derogatory or sexist comments when playing games. I just got sick and disgusted of it.

If this happens with all campaigns it might have something to do with your Arma profile file which stores the difficulty settings. This is stored in your 'My Documents' folder under 'Arma 2 Other Profiles' and has an .Arma2OAProfile extension. Hard to say what is wrong though... I would try deleting your Arma 2 profile and create a new one.

Bless you my son.

To iGAME360: are you running ace or ace2 if so download the RHSMOD from Armaholic and put the required addons in that mod
create 2 start exe one for ace and one for RHSMOD in the startexe put -mod=@ACE;@CBA and in the RHSMODexe -mod=@RHSMOD;@CBA
the lions of Kandahar goes into the RHSMOD try that should work.

What?

Guys, just get a mod manager app, like Arma 2 Launcher, which I've been using for a while. There are others, and this one isn't perfect, it used to crash a lot (though the latest version seems to work fine).

http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=8241

Download and install, and run Arma 2 using this app. It automatically scans for addons, and will display them if they were installed correctly. Then you create a group, drag them into the group and activate them and launch the game.

There should be no need for anything related to RHSMOD or ACE. Just make sure each of the required addons has it's own mod folder with the proper contents (most important is just making sure any .pbo or .bisign are in an "Addons" folder), and put the Lions of Kandahar campaign .pbo in the "Campaigns" folder in your Arma 2 installation (if it doesn't exist, create it). Again, there should be no other mods activated aside from the ones listed as required addons when playing the Campaign.

More info here: http://www.armaholic.com/plug.php?e=faq&q=18

Good luck, it can be a pain to figure out (it was for me for 6 months) but it's absolutely worth the headache.

Yup agreed a mod launcher is a must. Also a mod updater like the
http://www.six-updater.net/2011/07/six-updater-v25-stable.html
Its a great utility as it finds and updates any mods or addons automatically to their most current versions. Another reason why people have problems are outdated mods/addons.

well, I tried the following: 1. I put the lions of kandahar.pbo in to the campaigns folder, 2. all the neccessary addons
into the addons folder from ArmA2 the game won't start any other way.

Be careful with putting mods into the Arma2\Addons folder as it can cause problems down the road.

It is recommended you create a folder for each addon then start the game by adding command line parameters to your game shortcut. There are lots of posts about how to do this just search.

Bless you my son.

thanks for the tip, I have deleted ACE2 and run the campaign with only the start exe from arrowhead beta and it works very
well, had no problem sofar, all the addons are in the addons folder from combined operation, I think my problem was caused by ACE2. still would like to get a hint, of how to finish mission 11 but thanks guys for your tips.

# iGame360 : I dont think this will help me install the mods used for this campaign.

In fact it will help you install them*, keep them up-to-date, and even launch them in the proper order (yes the order does matter). It is not an easy program to figure out though it takes some getting used to.

*assuming the mods are available on the SU network. Even if they are not you can still use SU to launch the game.

Bless you my son.
