ARMA 2 CO
ARMA 2
ARMA 2 OA

Here's the issue:
I run a specific set of addons on my program for use with my local group of buddies (ACE,ISLA DUALA, Dozens of addons). I also wish to play online with larger groups, but they require a different set of addons such as ACE 2, DAYZ, and many singular addons.
I would like to have either two accounts or two desktop icons to seperate these requests. I've found that if I install a
major addons such as Isla Duala, my buddies can no longer play any mission I have made even though it does not require Isla Duala. I know you can enable/disable addons ingame, but that would take up a chunk of time every time I want to switch game types.
So, how can I run two shortcuts/accounts seperating these without affecting my local player group? Thank you.

Welcome to Armaholic :-)

I guess you never read the FAQ's?
- How to install and launch addons
- How to install and launch addons with the Steam version

Or use a launcher?
- ArmA II Game Launcher

By using modfolders and launchers you can activate addons whenever you need them. Or you can create like a million different shortcuts if you want, each shortcut launching a different set of addons.

Excellent! I was aware of the installation processes for addons, but never knew you could use launchers this way. For now I will edit the target line of my new icon, I suppose in the future I may want a launcher. So I guess I continue installing new addons to the Arma2 folder like before, just don't enable them in my local games Expansions page on startup but instead add them to my new icon target line.
Thank you Foxhound.

I use SIX Updater. It's great for this kind of thing and keeping things like ACE updated with a click of a button. Making new profiles is just a few clicks too.

Unfortunately Sickboy is moving towards his new PlayWithSix thing before adding all functionality of SU to it though, so the initial install is a little tricky, but once it's installed it's cake. Let me know if you try it and have problems.

It also includes a DayZ launcher, but DayZ is .. well, it's DayZ.
