I am trying to make a Free Rome mission and this mission is going to include 9 players that are attacked by all factions disincluding other civilians. This mission will also include soldiers all about patrolling and guarding out post and a small population meaning there will only be people in some cities. It will have a airpot that you will always spawn in every time you die and it will include all vehicles in that airport that also respawn.
I need some questions answered: (please answer the question to what you know. You don't have to know how to do everything in the question.)

1.)Is it possible to make a non-playable unit respawn back to its starting location after being killed and when it respawns resetting all of its way points so it may restart its patrol every time it respawns instead of continuing where it left off?

2.)Is there a way to make only certain citizens be targeted by a faction?

3.)Is it possible to make supply drops with a custom initialize script in its properties that you can call in to be dropped near your location and disappear after a certain distance? If not then how do i make just a regular supply drop script?

[Please use descriptive thread titles. - Mods]

Not sure about 1 or 3, but as for 2, you could put down (i.e.):

Option 1: To make a Civie hostile, place the civilian, and an OpFor unit. Make the OpFor higher rank, and the health/armor slider to the farthest left, and in its Init put,
deleteCollection this;
Then just group this Civie to the OpFor unit
Option 2: I've read a few posts that said this is broken, and I have yet to test it because I keep forgetting about it lol. But its
CIVILIAN setFriend [EAST, 1];

Don't have to use deleteCollection. That command is actually removed in ArmA2 in favor of hideObject so no sense getting used to using it in ArmA.

You can just place down an OPFOR unit with 0% probability of presence, group it with the Civilian and make it a higher Rank than the civie and the civ will act like an OPFOR.

For number 1 you could create the waypoints via script and just apply them to a new group. There's UPS for ArmA that should be able to do that.

For number 3 another Kronzky script might come in handy.

ok i now know how to change citizen or any unit's faction relation and also how to make random patrols which is good. Alls i need to know now is how to get only the AI units to respawn back to their starting point and restart to patrolling without resetting the initialize property.

# Günter Severloh : AI respawn group patrol area using UPS

That's for ArmA2, he's asking in the ArmA1 section. :) Main reason I linked him the ArmA1 version. heh

Lol, ah ok, I wasn't paying attention to the thread, as most are for arma2oa, but either way I was on the right script, wrong game.
