CANADIAN ARMED FORCES MODIFICATION
ARMA 3 ALPHA

ALPHA 0.1 - DOWNLOAD

More info on contents, and future releases found here - BI FORUMS
The Canadian Armed Forces project is underway during the ARMA 3 Alpha.

Our project is being conducted in phases:

Phase 1 - Infantry

This phase will be the texturing of CF uniforms (CADPAT) and the integration of the CG634 Ballistic Helmet used by Canadian Forces.

**Note the currently issued Tac Vest and body armour used by Canadian Soldiers will not be making an appearance. The CF is in the process of getting new rigs and the Tac Vest is truly a piece of crap (speaking from experience)

Phase 2 - Weaponry

We will be bringing the current weapons of the CF to ARMA 3 to include

C7A2
C8A2
C9A2
C6 GPMG

to start, with hopes of AT weaponry and static weapons soon after

Phase 3 - Land Vehicles

Porting and upgrading of LAV III, Coyote, and hops of a MSVS for logistical support.

Phase 4 - Aircraft

Starting with the Chinook and then moving forward. As of now the RCAF is re-assessing the decision to purchase the F35 so we will likely be waiting to see what is chosen to replace the CF-18 before moving on any fighter projects.

We are aiming to have Phase 1 and 2 complete before ARMA III goes Beta, along with some public servers running.

Here are some very early screen shots from

**We are looking for modellers to help out with some vehicle creation. Please contact me via pm if you are able and willing to help out.

Forgive me, for I am but a novice in the world of modding, but how are you modding such amazing stuff? How are you doing all this designing and modeling? Maybe a link to explain such arts? Please?

Just so you know we are not ignoring your WIP's.
I have decided due to the amazing and hectic Arma 3 newsflow to not write WIP reports for now (untill we too get a little rest). So, your wip work will be added to the weekly report. I apologize if this sounds bad but if we frontpage it it will go down within minutes anyway. 8-)

wow.. that's cool.. so the helmet in your .p3d file how did you know what to redefine it to? just to the name selection called "head" ? Is there any documentation about arma3 gear somewhere yet in terms of how to set up the .p3d, and how to add it into a config.cpp?

I was having a play with making units and saw that if I removed items from "linkedItems" (like the helmet) it would strip it out. But the "linkedItems" helmet is just called "h_HelmetB" so it must be calling from a class somewhere. Is that how you're doing it? Making a class called "headGearItem" and then in that class the model line is model = your_p3d ( the CG634 )?

I think I understand the process but I'm just unsure of what selection name to "redefine" something like a helmet or goggles to except to make a guess that it's like in arma2 .. "head"

anyways great work .. sorry for the wall of text.

Wow, truly awesome. Can't wait to see that!

Just a question, are you planning to eventually include any CF long range weapons, such as C3, AR-10, C14 and C15?

yes, however we do not have models for these weapons. It is one of the things we are looking for support with.

A couple things. 1. Can you get bigger more defined pictures so I can drool over your work. And 2. You might think about making a heavy vest with groin protector, ballistic shoulder pads, and maybe a thicker look. Just a suggestion. Anyways your project looks amazing so far.
