# DarkXess : Thanks for pointing that out, just updated the guide on how to do just that (running multiple mods). :-)

A suggestion. In Arma2 I had a folder called Test into which I put new mods to check if and how they worked with others already added. If I had two new ones I'd put them in one by one into the test folder. The others were in one folder rather than a bunch. After testing I copied the tested mod files to the other group folder. It had already tested fine with them, so it could safely be used. If there were problems I would either ditch the new mod or make a folder to keep it in. I often had two versions of Arma2 with different mod loadouts. The main play one had all the good tested ones together.

I also have read that they can be added in-game, but no info on that. In Arma2 it was called expansions, I think, on the main menu. I could be wrong - anyone??

Hi everyone. I have a problem installing the @mas addon. I used the guide on armaholic. I have the whole nato sf russian spetsnaz weapons pack v1.2 in my main game folder, i have the @mas folder in the main game folder, i tried to put the pbo and design files in the main addon folder. I added the key to the keys folder. I enabled the expansion ingame, but still i get the you are missing the nato sf russian spetsnaz weapons pack v1.2 ingame and then I get kicked out. I also did the -mod=@mas in the set launch options on steam. Still it doesnt work.

Hey, first post here guys. Quite new to Arma and installing mods,I have a couple of questions. So far I have been putting the PBO and Bisign files into the Addons folder right in Arma 3 main directory there, like the video shows him doing. Is that a bad thing? Seems like people are doing it a few different ways, unless I'm simply getting confused. Also does it matter what the keys names are? from massi's mod they ended up both being mas. And lastly, just to clarify how these folders should look, should it go something like this- @Mod name/Addons and Keys and whatnot inside that. some of my folders have a second /@*** , not sure if that will cause problems.
Apologies for the block of texts, I've been feeling very confused about all this stuff Lmao.

Added 13 minutes later:

To give an example of that, one of Massi's folders looks like this. @USMC_A3_v1.1/@mas/addons and keys. for the steam launch parameters, I have @mas put down.

1. Never put put any addons files in main addon folder -> arma 3\addons. You will have problems very fast ;)
2. Mods you always put in @modfolders (pbo and bising files you put in @modname\addons)
3. If you you will make @foldername\@modname\addons game will not see modyfication and will not launch that mod.

Just remember you put mods always in -> @modname\addons

No put those .pbo files into a mod format---> @mods/addons
so put the .pbos in the addon folder of the mod folder you create, as those files do nothing by themselves outside of that format. Then add it to you shortcut target line or however you start the game.

Pbos and other stuff you said, what "other stuff"? userconfigs?

Hello, I am new to pc gaming in general and Arma 3. I have watchted the 2 different tutorial videos, and I am still confused.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trGlZ52mIt4

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXltCcd0qxU

In the first guide, the MOD are in the Addon folder, however after reading the replies on this thread, that is a BAD idea..

So where should I put the mods? C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3 ?

Or should I create a folder in there? (I just made the folder called Arma 3 MODS) like :C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3\Arma 3 MODS

In the guide it menitoned 7zip and winsar, i downloaded the 7zip, I dont know how to use it and for the winsar, I see that you need to pay to get it.

Also for the using the launcher and putting the mod names, can I just put all the mods in 1 folder? like @Mod1? and then put the text -mod=@mod1? instead of having to put into 20+ different mod names?

And how to you acutally "see" the mod and know if it works? does it pop up in the virutial traiing wepaon/item loadout?

Im currently trying to get weapon/character mods
