Wasteland + Dynamic Zombie Sandbox

Description:
This is the two of those awesome sandbox missions combined 100% to those teams credit, all the side missions and vehicles of wasteland with the random loot in buildings and destroyed buildings and zombies from the DZS, it's pretty fun, try it out!


Installation:
Extract the .pbo file(s) to your Steam/SteamApps/common/ArmA 3/MPMissions folder.

Hi I thought I'd share this with everyone after getting permission from the Arma 3 Wasteland sandbox mission makers and the Dynamic Zombie Sandbox mission maker. Big ups to Tonic, Celery, Craig, the 404 guys, and my buddy Coin who besides getting me the Alpha to play with has let me abuse his server in testing this and put in about as many hours as I have into it fixing bugs and working out the kinks. Also thanks to the guys from HNGamers for putting up with a lot of noob questions.


-=(7/9/14)=- fixed some things to get it working on release/stable version of Arma 3 link below

-=(3/19/13)=- here is a new build that runs MUCH better than the last one there are many changes and improvements to zombie spawning, making them look more dead, not spawning in water, fixing things I broke in wasteland, timing improvements and optimizations to how it runs, the beginnings of a new zombie side mission, and the size is now only 2.3mb vs the 6mb that the last version was, probably other things I'm forgetting too, a lot of work has been put into this one.

*if you run this on a dedi I recommend you set the max clients in your cfg from 80 to 85, even tho the map has 60 slots and the mission thinks there are 65 they don't match, I know, but for some reason it spawns more zombies that way

**admins, sorry I have no idea how to update the download page with this new version.

Yeah thanks for this awesome game mod. But the game crashes sometimes and the vehicles do not spawn in.

Great Job, Just one question the ability to move walls ect is that gone? Cause when I tried to move one It had no option just option to load in vehicle.

what version of Arma3 are you using regular or Developent? I know for a fact as you can see in the picture vehicles do spawn as plentifully as they do in wasteland. Thanks for looking, but the Alpha crashes occasionally no matter what mission you play.

I don't know if I tested moving objects, but it should work as I didn't change anything in that

@Sprig I think by defualt the vehicles don't spawn in Priamiters, you well have to change it.

I don't know if I tested moving objects, but it should work as I didn't change anything in that
I understand there well be hiccups in taking that first step, just thought I say something cause main reason i wanted combo is moving walls stuff seeing zombies know how to open doors, and climb ladders in the zombie one. lol

moving things definitely seems to be broken in this build, I'll see if I can get that working again

edit: actually, using the latest development build of the alpha from steam today, it seems to be working fine and damn after that update arma 3 is running a lot faster

How hard is it to convert this mission to a mod format? I left a similar question on the original DZS release page, but haven't heard back yet. The problem I'm facing without having a dedicated server with 100/1000 Mbit is the size of the actual mission file. Uploading 5 MB of data to each person connecting eventually kills the server. Not so much if one person connects at a time, but more so when multiple clients are connecting concurrently.

Sorry me again dont mean to sound like that guy just wanted to see if its me or what, not big issues for me just Noticed 2 things in Parameters options you might want to look in to, When I chose give NVG on player at start I dont have my NVG, and no matter what time i set it jumps from that time to night.

On that same note, players could download the mission and put it in their MP Missions folder and not have to download anything when the connect, no more inconvenient than making them download a mod IMO, but it lets the curious join.

Great idea!!

Side missions for Wasteland? They do spawn on dedicated(using the development build I can confirm), I don't know if wasteland is intended to be hosted locally or if the side missions work if you do. The DZS side missions are still under construction in the Arma 3 build afaik but I'm working on trying to get them working

Sorry about that, I'm working on getting this all working smoothly together on a dedicated server, some things had to be hardcoded to an extent when I started working on this in the early builds of the Arma 3 alpha, so the DZS setup menu might not be working as you would expect right now, I'm more focused on getting the Zombie side missions working right with wasteland at the moment, you can buy nightvision at the gun store, or find it in loot if you're lucky

Im new to the whole community and Ive enjoyed arma 2 for awhile. DZ is a very great mod and Im looking forward to its separate yet great potential with the arma 3 platform.

THIS IS OFF TOPIC BUT A GREAT IDEA! I was thinking as of late of an entirely new mod platform for the ARMA series.

What if we had a JURASSIC PARK MOD!!!??? I think that would put a whole new survival tactic to the game and a new set of gameplay. we could call it something similar like Jurassic Day so that ther is no copyright crap from the big studios or whatever.

But I would even consider writing storyline and campaign. I just want to see this idea take flight

I thought about putting Godzilla in this mission too but no, I've loved zombies since my childhood, no studio has a copyright on or gets credit for that (except maybe George Romero)
