Hi all,

I am from India and an armchair pilot, I like arma 2 by watching the videos @youtube even though there are mix reviews of this sim but I am buying it anyway. I may not be more of a MP player but yes SP missions will be fun, even though I know that it is a beautiful sim when in MP mode, so currently looking at purchasing the Arma 2 or should I wait for Arma 3?

The stores here in India only have Arma 2 and I read that there are new Arma 2 versions like OA and CO. So If I have to purchase Arma 2 which should it be OA or CO ?

Thnx.

You can download "Arma 2: free" for free and I recommend you buying Arma 3 NOW as long as it is in beta state and runs on your system because it is atm cheaper than it will be on release (you buy arma 3 beta but also get the full game)
Arma 3 can be purchased over steam.

Will check Arma 3 on steam. thnx.

Try arma 2 free
oa and co is NOT included
Mods/addons are not working with a2 free I believe
But you can try out arma
A3 costs atm 35€ ~ 40$ in my country
It is a really fair price.
I would download a2free and try it. If you like the general game (excluding graphic) buy A3.

I am going to buy in a day. The best part is the recommended specs match exactly with my system. :)

But be aware:
ArmA is not Battlefield! It is a lot slower...

Guys I think I am going to skip A3 and go ahead with A2 CO , the reason being I want real world stuff and not something like 2030 and a fictional island or countries. Though I may be wrong that A3 would only be a 2030 sim maybe it comes out with RW stuff later.

There are a lot of RW stuff. Is it that bad a game uses prototypes?
comanche, littlebird, ghosthawk (a variant of a blackhawk), m320 (cheytac m200), gm6 lynx, strider is used by greek forces, ifrit exists, p07 (whalter p99),...
fictional island? Try using google maps... Maybe you realize the maps are pretty realistic and not fictional (only a bit edited like chernarus was)

I never said A3 does not look good or not realistic, I would actually wait a few months before purchase. I like A2 due to it is set in the current time. So going ahead with A2 and may in December will go with A3 as till then lot many addons and updates would have come.

I see that you are a penguin guy.
