Hi there, I'm fairly new to ARMA and have recently stumbled across the scripting portion of the game and as a programming student it caught my eye and made me think. I recently read "Low Level Hell" the story of an Oh-6 pilot in Vietnam. There is a paragraph in the book were the pilot "cooks" smoke grenades and throws one of them out the side to mark movement and various objects on the ground, To cut a long story short i was wondering how this could be done in ARMA, I am not sure how to even approach this as the syntax is unfamiliar to me, thanks in advance.

You could just make an addAction to spawn a smoke grenade at your current location. A lot easier than trying to have an animation of someone holding a grenade out the window like your image.

_bird = _this select 0;
_color = _this select 3;
_smoke = createvehicle [_color, [1,1,1], [], 0, ""];

_smoke attachTo [_bird, [-0.6,2,1]];
sleep 3;
detach _smoke;
