For those interested, here's a quick video of the new sounds for CSM Beta Version 2.0 directly from Chammy himself. Cham's been hard at work when in between RL obligations. CSM Beta v2.0 should be released very shortly(assuming Cham doesn't die from an Earthquake).

Wow, sounds like an excellent job has been done again by Chammy. I very much like the sounds of the choppers.
It has been a while I used Chammy's sound mod, I have been totally into Fromz sound mod but now I heard this preview I cant wait for it to be released :)

Great job from the team and thanks for the update :thumb

I do too. Cham fields his sounds off the team and I personally, think he's never put out one poor sound in the vehicles area. Ever. They just keep getting better and better. Of course, it's a matter of taste :)

I hear ya :) With all the other sound packs out it is nice to switch it up once and a while I imagine. With the introduction of Fromz 1.4, the choices of super-awesome sound mods just keeps growing.

Hey no problem :) ArmAholic has always been one of the best at providing info and mirrors and support. Great stuff.

Personally, the difference CSM sound makes for me is when you're entering into a firefight, or shot at, immediately upon hearing the bullets fired at you, whether you are blufor or opfor I notice an immediate differentiation of sound. A distinct difference in weapon sound that sets off a flag in my head something to the effect "You're being fired at by x opposing force weapon," rather than "You're being fired at from somewhere, by someone." I find the sounds are either distinctly "Red" or distinctly "Blue." Pretty cool

Hopefully this release will be on your plates for tastin' very, very soon :D

Don't have a date set. The release is all dependant on Binkster/Durg's completion of the config, and Chammy's work with the sounds, and Chammy allowing it to be released.

is it compatable with the ECM mod, because I like it when you can hear echoes of shots from a long way off and also I really like the fact that you can hear far away explosions but they actually take time to get to you. I hate it when you shoot a hill a mile away in clear sight, but there is no sound from it. love the new at-4 sound. it needs more bass when fired though. I want the thing to rumble my desk when i fire it!

The sound travel is a ArmA feature, Not only in ECS. And yes you can use your own soundeffects. Most often you can just put the sound mod AFTER the other mod used (mod order in the command line). When its after - it loads on top of the other mod. This is why its recommended to use the Extended Eventhandler mod folder loaded last - so it applies to all mods used.

Alex

i know this is an old thread but I just want to say that Chammy had the BEST grenade explosion sound hands down. to the point that I miss it to this day... No one has seemed to get it right except Chammy... I miss it man... Just saying...
