Hey guys, this is my first post here in the forums, ok so im going to cut straight to the chase, I'm looking to retexture the berets in ARMA 3, the reason being because currently they all show up as being black despite being listed as "Red", "SAS", "Police" etc.

I have had a look at a lot of the guides available on the internet but none of them seem to make any sense to me as im completely new to the file structure of the ARMA series.

If you kind members of the forum should so decide to smile upon thee then please give some direction on how to retexture
the berets and camo in ARMA 3.

Just to get some people interested heres what im going to be including in the mod-
-Retexturing of all coloured berets (so the "Red Beret" is actualy red etc.)
-Also will be making new berets to add to the game like Royal rifles, royal marines, signals etc.

Never mind retexturing them for the moment, How about someone reshaping them? Making them look like a soldiers beret really out to look, rather than just a fresh out of the stores pancake? Back when I served (British military) we were not even allowed to wear our new beret until it had been shaped properly. The newly aded NATO beret is an excellent example of how TO shape one, and the original shaped beret looks like it was just issued by the Quartermaster to a new boy. Unacceptable.

PLEASE If you do add new berets. could you add one for the RAMC (Royal Army Medical Corps). It is a dark blue colour, like the regular infantry with an RAMC capbadge.

Could you also do variants for officers and other ranks. I.e.

Officers - Note the maroon patch behind the cap badge

Other ranks - Just cap badge, without maroon patch

Also, there are different coloured berets depending on what regiment it is from, i.e. air assault have a light blue beret with the RAMC cap badge, and the pra's have a maroon beret. This may be a bit too much though...

If you look at the british special forces mod by massi, the berets added in that are AWESOME with a rly good shape. Maybe you could ask him if you can use them as a template?
