Good day!

Today I'd like to announce a new web project for ArmA developers, commandSearch.

TL-DR: This is basically Google Instant with ArmA commands

commandSearch is a web-app that allows you to access all ArmA 3 commands in a quick, streamlined way.

You see, I'm the developer of Dynamic Zombie Sandbox (for those who remember it :/), and going through the massive list of commands was a bit annoying, as was the huge number of tabs I ended up opening. So today I decided to make something that would make things a bit easier.

commandSearch retrieves a list of all the ArmA 3 commands and lets you search them, and as you search them the details appear below. You don't have to click, press enter, or anything. Just type. Also, as it retrieves the list directly from the biki, it's always up to date. :)

Give it a try!!

commandSearch

-Craig

Thats really awesome! I will definitely swap out BIS's page for yours since yours is easier to search through. Annother awesome feature would be to add the built in functions i.e. BIS_fnc_unitPlay.

Best place to get started whould be here.

Sometimes I like to think as I started the whole "earplugs" thing.

W0lle: The only advice I can give you is: Do not try to understand BI. You will not succeed and it only makes your brain go boom. I would even go so far and say that not even they understand their own actions :-D.

Thanks 654wak654. I already use that page. I was thinking bobtom could also include those on his page since he has a great search and display UI going.

Tested it on firefox, opera and chrome.

The autocomplete list has a weird indent and doesn't seem to be clickable for me.
I'd suggest using jQueryUI instead of bootstrap for that.

Aside from that, the search/autocomplete is nice but the commandlist is actually less structured than on the wiki and putting every command into a tiny box harms the readability and wastes a lot of space.

Maybe you could put the commands into a filtered, sortable table. That way you could easily include more information and you wouldn't need a separate search-field.

check out these for example:

http://tablesorter.com

ps.: I hope you're using the mediawiki-api to fetch the information, instead of just parsing the html (which would put an unnecessary strain on the wiki)

There are a lot of very capable people on this forum, willing to spend some of their time to help you out. So if you have a problem, it surely isn't too much to ask that you atleast take the time to describe it properly. Thanks.
