Finally the SLX mod is open to the public. I just tried it out and it AMAZING! just one slight problem. theres a black error box that updates the errors every 5 second on the top left of the screen. its not really bothering me i just dont like it there. lol. i think its because i didnt install the 1.09 patch. I will and see what happens. GREAT JOB! oh wait. i have a question. After dragging a wounded soldier to cover is there anyway to revive/heal them?

SLX is designed for 1.09beta+ only. It won't work correctly with 1.08.

From the release post:

The current release is indeed made for the beta patches after 1.08
So I'm sorry but there is at this moment no way to deliver an 1.08 compatible version.

is there a way to get the crosshair back? (white aiming things)

There are some crosshair add-ons out there, they might give you your crosshair back[/quote]

Yeah, all the "realism" mods remove that. It's to encourage you to use the iron sights I guess! To be honest, I hated it when I stopped using the cross hairs, but now even without a realism mod I still turn them off.

It's great seeing the enemy drag their own troops back and heal them. Today i went civi, so i could observe both sides of the battle. It seemed to be like they knew to use the armoured vehicles they had as cover for the wounded! Some real good fun, it's also amusing to watch the new "dodging" animations!

i dont mean to be rude or disrespectful. but major part of this addon amounts to bucket of sheep shit.
all i want and need is group link scripts, automatically initialized by any unit i place on map.i never save the missions, i just quickly drop units on the map and i start blasting.

why are those people even bothering with wounds, heaps of dust enough to nuke my machine out of this world, and various other "realism" vomit? its a damn game, i dont want to get iraq syndrome from playin ArmA! if anyone knows how to disable about 99% percent to get this group link and suppression effect working, please reply. i tried, but with no success. ill be most grateful for any help. cheers.

Hi and :welcome to armaholic.
corrupt : i dont mean to be rude or disrespectful. but major part of this addon amounts to bucket of sheep shit.
Well u do :D

corrupt : all i want and need is group link scripts, automatically initialized by any unit i place on map.i never save the missions, i just quickly drop units on the map and i start blasting.
What u need it's possible that it's not what others need and more than possible that it's not what the modders want.

corrupt : why are those people even bothering with wounds, heaps of dust enough to nuke my machine out of this world, and various other "realism" vomit? its a damn game, i dont want to get iraq syndrome from playin ArmA!
Again, it's cause they like what they do. They are not payed for doing it so...

corrupt : if anyone knows how to disable about 99% percent to get this group link and suppression effect working, please reply. i tried, but with no success. ill be most grateful for any help. cheers.
If you just had said this, removing the "disable about 99% percent to", that at the end it's what you want to do then u wouldn't have been rude.

Excellent start on our forums corrupt. For you a special warning for talking completely without respect to ones work.

Please make your own website, talk like that on it and I am sure all those great addon makers will wait in line just to make what you want.

Grow up and do it yourself if you dont like it. If you can't learn it!

guys, thanks for a warm welcome. but you arent much helpful.

addon makers, as well as other creative people should be prepared for people who dont have all that "thumbs up however bad it is" attitude. they should take it as positive as it is (bad feedback is a feedback nevertheless), because all over forums there are people demanding this and that disabled. so much for the first problem.

dearest foxhound, thanks for a SPECIAL warning. its really all you SPECIAL people i meet on the forums, carrying the burden of admins. but saying that shit is shit is not considered to be a crime (at least outside totalitarian countries). at least im aware of what hides under your SPECIAL hat. no offense. now im off to grow up (to be a SPECIAL forum admin like you). you are a true credit to mankind.

for everyone tryin to get the crosshair working again:
removing of certain .pbo files from /@SLX/Addons will bring back crosshair.
i left only slx_gl3.pbo,slx_ai_dispersion.pbo,slx_cloud.pbo,slx_findcover.pbo,slx_mic,slx_mod.pbo;

experiment with those, dig into config (its a total mess!you have been warned) and renew the original settings.

SPECIAL Warning! I have been SPECIALLY warned! NOW, i'm warning you all.

Foxhound : corrupt, have fun growing up on your own forums, drop us a mail when you think we could exchange site buttons.

offtopic! special warning for you sir! :)) seriously tho, is this group link 3 that SLX uses work of Solus or is it somehow developed from group link 2? it seems to have much more features.

[add on]
oh sweet jesus, im so great. here is the final solution, how to deal with that crosshair removal.

1. unpbo slx_modweapons_c.pbo
2. open the config.cpp and change local cursorAim variables for each weapon type to whatever crosshair you like.i myself changed it to the T,which is a value "\ca\Weapons\Data\w_weapon_T".
3. pack to .pbo
4. play till you drop.

crosshairs can be then disabled in the game menu, so you can freely decide whether use it or not.
Anyway, finishing ArmA without a crosshair DOESNT mean you are fit for Navy Seals or SAS (just to clear this up). :D special warnings to you all.

Corrupt, you really wonder why you dont get a warm welcome? It might have to do with that many people here are creators of some sort (mod/addon/script makers). If you want the SLX team to change anything i suggest you go to BIS forum and check out the SLX mod thread there. If you pay attention to the posts youll see how the communication in this community work, and that constructive critisism sometimes spiced with facts actually have effect and mods gets updated. I get offended by posts like yours as i spend tons of hours working on ArmA related things. And like me, every modder try to do their absolute best.

Regards
Alex
