I did just write out a lot in this post about my problem but when I posted it, it said something about an invalid URL and lost my post -__- so now I'm just going to link a download to my missions files (there's a small amount). Someone with a reasonable understanding of SQF should be able to read them without any hassle.

DOWNLOAD - http://1drv.ms/1f8BB6Q

My goal is to be able to write function files in either the client or server folder of my mission and then be able to just quickly "call" or "spawn" them. At the moment the setup I've got, to me looks alright, fairly clean but the problem is it doesn't work. I keep getting this error:

Note that I am using iniDB for mission persistence but this shouldn't be a factor since that stuff is irrelevant for this problem.

I'm a web developer by trade and understand classes and all the rest of it so don't hesitate to give me a detailed response!

Not sure but, in your onplayerRespawn, you should try to add on top:
waituntil {player == player}; This could help passing _unit to fn_loadplayer.sqf .
_this is an array, so try also _this select 0 in this script.
