Hello.

I'm having a small issue. I am trying to make a custom sound in a mission for a car (sirens). I have putted the sirensound.ogg into a folder inside the mission folder, so the route is: "\sound\sirensound.ogg". When I try to enter it into the description.ext it tells me "config: some input after EndOfFile". Before it kept telling me cannot find the sirensound but I figured it was a error caused by everything being not-ready in the description.ext.

I have tried multiple choices in the description.ext but might have still missed some. Tried to toss it into the Squint too but no errors :/
The sound file is currently less than 50 KB, in mono, it is about 21 seconds long and in 22050 Hz.

So the only thing that I see that might cause you and issue is the file path you have used. Ive just copyed and pasted from the wiki try this:

class CfgSounds
{
	sounds[] = {};
	class addonsound1
	{
		name = "sound from addon";
		// start path to sound file in AddOn with @
		sound[] = {"sound\sirensound.ogg", 0.8, 1};
		titles[] = {0,""};
	};
};

playSound "wolf1";

If it works change the name and class to whever you want it to be.

Ok. So know I have made it into this:

class CfgSounds
{
	sounds[] = {};
	class addonsound1
	{
		name = "sirensound";
		// start path to sound file in AddOn with @
		sound[] = {"@mission1.Altis\sound\sirensound.ogg", db+100, 1};
		titles[] = {0,""};
	};
};

Now there are no error messages but cannot hear any sound either. Tried kicking up the volume with the db+100 and checked my audio settings.

keep your former config with local path but change one of the line for:
sounds [] = {sirensound};
Don't forget [] as "sounds"is a param not a single variable

PLEASE CONTACT ME ON BI FORUMS FOR ANY SCRIPT / MOD QUESTION. TKS

My two cents:

class CfgSounds {
	sounds[] = {};
	class sirensound {
		name = "sirensound";
		sound[] = {"sound\sirensound.ogg", 1, 1};
		titles[] = {0,""};
	};
};

Sometimes I like to think as I started the whole "earplugs" thing.

W0lle: The only advice I can give you is: Do not try to understand BI. You will not succeed and it only makes your brain go boom. I would even go so far and say that not even they understand their own actions :-D.

# 654wak654 : My two cents:

class CfgSounds {
	sounds[] = {};
	class sirensound {
		name = "sirensound";
		sound[] = {"sound\sirensound.ogg", 1, 1};
		titles[] = {0,""};
	};
};

Thank you sir, this worked splendidly *DRINK*
