OK I really like the idea of this mod! However in testing I've found an issue and have some feedback!

So I play on a dedicated server multiplayer. And I have many mods going so it may be interference with another mod but after I (and all the players on the server) put a weapon on my back I'm no longer able to interact with other objects. (can't enter a vehicle or access it's gear, can't pick up other weapons off the ground etc.) I use the enhanced movement mod which has an enhanced interaction element to it also so it may be that.

As for the feedback, the interface is a bit clunky right now but I have a couple suggestions. If you could add the ability to take a weapon from the ground and put it directly onto your back and the ability to switch directly to a different weapon on your back (an addaction to put current weapon on your back plus an addaction to switch weapon from your back to your hands while putting the one in your hands on your back(a switch addaction for each weapon on your back)) would make this mod much easier to use IMO.

Good work on the mod so far!

This problem only in the third person, I will try to solve it, but I can not promise anything. the problem arises from the object, which is a weapon, covers "line" test action

... You can firstly select weapon from back and if weapon with same type is present in your weapon slots then character switch selected weapon with this weapon

Added 3 minutes later:

- start any mission
- select primary or secondary weapon (in hands)
- scroll mouse wheel
- select action "Current weapon on back" in opened actions menu

Get a weapon:
- scroll mouse wheel
- select action "Select weapon <weapon_name>"

Try fix actions in 3rd persons - same weapons may look bad

For the first answer. OK! I thought I tried this but I guess I hadn't. I will try it out and if it switches your current weapon for your selected weapon without having to put it on your back first then all is good with that!

For the second answer. It's really not that big of a deal if I have to put my current weapon on my back to pick up another so if it's solvable then cool but I wouldn't spend very much time trying to as it's such a small compromise.

***EDIT***

Ok I tried the first person and was able to access the inventory for a short while then it stopped working as well while I had a weapon on my back. When I was able to get in the inventory I wasn't able to move anything to or from my inventory to the crate I was accessing. Switching from one weapon to the other is working good!

Nice work, i really like your mod.

I think this feedback is the same as some of the previous comments, i wasn't sure: when i have a weapon on my back it disables actions in the action menu e.g. i cannot select Inventory to interact with ammo boxes, or inventory on the floor etc. I can press the Inventory short cut key while next to an ammo box, but it only opens my personal inventory, still no interaction.

It's great when initially setting your load out, but complicates things when trying to rearm later on.

p.s. tested in 3d editor only.

I was hardly able to do something, the ACE does not provide the possibility to create a list of ignored objects for over pressure.

PS I do not like ACE, very not like...

Neither i do. This kind of addon acts as "proprietary" of Arma. It tends to change everything until you remove it.
I like the idea I can do without it.

Love how this mod works. Problem is with 1 weapon on your back and 1 in your hands you cannot access things like vehicles and other items. I was trying to use this with Exile and it would not allow me to interact with the traders either until I had both weapons on my back.

Other issue I noticed is that not matter the stance of the character the weapon stays straight up and down. Is there anyway to fix that?

Keep up the excellent work. Definitely something needed within the Arma Community.

  • Fix: inability use actions in 3rd person
  • Add: impact on fatigue
  • Add: compatibility with "Extended fatigue" mod (Also my addon)
  • Add: compatibility with ACE-actions (Optional DW_ACE.pbo)

And update "Extended fatigue" mod (Arma 3 publisher is broken):
  • Fix: same errors in last game update
  • Add: more understandable settings in modules
  • Change: rebalanced all parameters of fatigue
