Hello all, I just joined and figured that I'd introduce myself.

I played OFP many many years ago. I saw arma2 and all its expansions on steam sale a few days ago, and got it... I know Arma3 is out now... but even Arma 2... wow has so much changed and yet stayed the same. I'm not sure if its my increased age, general rustiness, or the improved graphics; but the game seems harder now because its harder to spot enemies before they spot you.

I've changed continents (US to Switzerland), changed prefixes (got a Dr. in front of my name now), changed in many ways - but I still admire "OFP"/ArmA.

ArmA's changed too:
FLIR vision, VTOL aircraft, UAVs, multiple weapon sites, multiple turrets on vehicles, site zeroing, rangefinders, vastly improved inventory system, vaulting/leaning...the graphics, this game truly has come a long way (as has the hardware to run it on) - but the good ol' " this addWeaponCargo ["xxx",y]" and other editor commands still work, and some models I would swear havent changed one bit (those brown guard towers)

I've been looking at Arma3... the graphics are already good enough on Arma 2 for me, and I prefer the game to run well, than to run pretty. The ability of Helos to sling payloads does look quite interesting though. More infantry stances - cool.
I'm sure I'll find more improvements in Arma 3 when I get around to it

Welcome!
Arma3 when you want. In 2017 perhaps. There are plenty of interesting mods and scenarios.
Waiting for Arma 4 and glancing at some news about VR goggles like Oculus Rift or HTC Vive. But PC for gamer + goggles... should be cheaper within a year or 2.
Without mentioning that scripting is almost as fun as playing. The 3D Eden editor is a must now.

PLEASE CONTACT ME ON BI FORUMS FOR ANY SCRIPT / MOD QUESTION. TKS
