I finally got around to plugging in my joystick, after 180 hours, and got my settings how I want them, except that there doesn't seem to be any actual throttle control. It's either all or nothing on the switch and it's made landing a plane impossible. Am I missing something?

Did you bind your joystick to the analogue variant of thrust? It's at the bottom of the controls list.

Same thing also applies to helicopters. BIS seems to have put them there as an afterthought.

I personally don't use the analogue versions, but that's just my weird niche.

Sometimes I like to think as I started the whole "earplugs" thing.

I did the same as wak.
This means auto-gas and auto-brake (increasing when nose up, breaking when nose down) at middle thrust. Then, full throttle pushing a little forward, full brakes when pulling a little backward. It's OK for keyboard but not fun for joystick.

Now, I prefer the "little" analogical system for joystick. Unfortunately, middle position remains idle, it's so weird! but you get analogical thrust and analogical brakes. There is no more auto-gas,auto-brake. (logitech 3D pro)

What?

Added 1 hour 54 minutes later:

I used Logitech's controller program and fudged some settings and now it works.

That's a place I didn't think to look. Glad you got it to work.
