Hi all, new player/member here. Just got the game a couple weeks ago and having a blast so far! Armaholic was the first website I found when I purchased Arma 3 and I appreciate such an amazing resource like this online. Keep up the great work!

Now my issue is regarding sensitivities. Being a Battlefield 4 player, I almost expected that moving up to Arma (more realism), there would also be a similar sensitivity system, where we have numeric values to go by so if we had to change sensitivity before stepping in to a chopper, we would remember where we had set it for infantry sensitivity, so we could switch back later, but not only are there no numberic values to go by, there is only one universal sensitivity for the entire game.

So my question is, first is there any way to remedy this, any mods, scripts, etc, to add the following options to the game:

Infantry aim sensitivity (hip-fire)
Infantry aim down sight (below a certain range for close-medium combat)
Infantry scope sensitivity (above a certain range for sniper scopes)
Helicopter sensitivity
Plane sensitivity
Vehicle sensitivity

And second question is how does everyone else feel about this? In my head, this would be such a logical addition to a game/sim based so largely around realism. Are you all ok with having just one setting for the whole game with no numeric values next to the slider? (makes changing the setting around purely guesswork trying to switch back and forth).

Thanks for any help.

I find it so strange that of all the games out there; Arma 3, the most realistic military sim available, has no sensitivity controls with numeric values for vehicles and infantry, yet BF and other games do and have had these simple, logical settings for many years.

What's even more surprising is that the Arma community doesn't even seem to care, or at least it doesn't appear to, as the devs have not done anything about this in years.

I'm sitting here, as a new player, wondering what other players do every time they step in and out of vehicles and go back to infantry, do you all just put up with it and use one universal sensitivity for everything? I'm guessing this must be the case.

Are we going to have the same discussion we had over at the BI Forums?

Are you talking about free look sensitivity or weapon movement sensitivity.

And I still don't get where you find this correlation from Military simulators and adjustable sensitivity. I don't see customisable sensitivity in real life?
Try turning mouse acceleration. Might work for you.

I know its already a month old but still... (people think to simple and forget the cons)

How do I feel about this? stupid and over-complicated as arma already kinda is...
The reason ugh ugh (hardcore) gamers don't change there sensitivity is because the brain gets used to it.
Changing sensitivity to much will prevent this which makes aiming only so much more difficult to begin with.

Infantry aim sensitivity (hip-fire) - mouse
Infantry aim down sight (below a certain range for close-medium combat) - mouse
Infantry scope sensitivity (above a certain range for sniper scopes) - mouse
Helicopter sensitivity - keyboard
Plane sensitivity - keyboard
Vehicle sensitivity - keyboard

And while every gaming mouse, from €30 and up has software included to change everything from speed to sensitivity.
No I don't see a point for arma to come with more things that will never be used by the majority of the community.
Buy a gaming mouse as I just said and switch any speed at the click of 1 button, come 'n man...

And now just being completely honest, BF only has those sliders because it has controllers.

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail...
