I'm fairly new to scripts and mods, so this may be a novice question, but here it is short and sweet:
I'm using the Air Cav mod for a Vietnam mission and the Huey's wont fire on a seek and destroy WP. I jump in the pilot seat and they fire just fine, though I've learned they have a safety you have to disable first. I'm guessing the AI doesn't turn safety off automatically because they definitely call out the enemy and aim at them. But the entire crew just holds fire. In fact, every soldier holds fire in the chopper. All of their weapons are locked on safe, even when told to "Open Fire". They would rather just die, apparently.
I'm assuming there is a way to turn it off, and I'd rather just do this with an Int script or trigger so I don't have to run commands the whole mission. Is this possible? Or maybe just a simple box to uncheck?
And by the way, I wouldn't be here if I hadn't already scoured the internet for hours for the answer,so "just Google it" doesn't really help me....

Ok, so I figured it out already lol. I'll just leave this here in case anyone else has the same issue:

In the Int field of the object (helicopter, whatever), put-

vehiclename removeWeapon "Safe";

Obviously, change "vehiclename" to whatever your variable name is. Your vehicle is now locked on fire.
