rip31st sent us an update regarding the upcoming beta, I decided it would fit here the best.


rip31st : The 31st Normandy modwill be releasing it's models as a BETA on Oct 15th, 2008. The release will include several vehicles, infantry, weapons, buildings & a VERY large map ( over 24,000 sq km ).

*This release may or may not include missions. The intent is to get out as much as possible to the community so they can begin having some WWII fun. There has been a much long awaited anticipation for an ArmA World War 2 mod in this community.

NOTES: -

This BETA release will be followed up with appropriate fixes.

-Several other vehicles are still in work! And I MEAN SEVERAL! There is a lot in work. Those will not make the release but will be released in phases or individually depending on their need.

-There are a total of 4 maps of equal size to the Normandy map from this mod on the drawing board which feature various theaters and phases of WWII. More maps can be added later.

-There will be a sound mod rolling out eventually down the road.

- Future theaters include the eastern fronts, battle of the buldge, Fin - Russian wars, Southern European theater, West, Central & Eastern north Africa.

Most frequently asked Q&A-

Q: Will we see Naval units?
A: Yes!

Q: Will this stuff be ported over to ArmA II?
A: Yup!

Q: I see you have a lot of Axis units, is there more Allied units in work?
A: Yes, there are a bunch in work right now. We realize that the initial beta release has a lot of Axis equipment.

Q: How can I participate in this mod?
A: You can either do it now by sending myself a PM or by waiting until the BETA is released. You can give us input on your likes/dislikes or if you are a mission creator you can submit them to us after the BETA comes out.

What's the link between your comment and the topic ?

My link is that when you have alot of people on a server it lags it out. I am saying even with evo it will lag out if you have more than 2 or 3 cities running. With a big operation like one that would happen on a huge map (such as this one) it would lag it out.
