Amazing job your doing in such short time Rip31s, Engima and team!

I have a few questions if you wouldn't mind.

Earlier you mentioned you were going for performance over quality but your creating the models so fast, I'm wondering if your having any time to create any resolution LODS for them?

I think (am no expert though) that how well your res lods are done impacts performance much more than how many quads you have in your first LOD.

Will you have a supression system built in like this 6th sense one or will you leave it up to the players to add there own ai-enhancements?
http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=3371
This really does add alot to game play, if you have time maybe you should take a look at it if you haven't.

Last, do you have a dynamatic sound Ai for the germans?
If you haven't already seen it, here is a DSAI mod which features english, russian and arab voices
http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=2368

It really adds so much to game play, expecially ww2 if you use the enableradio false command and just use these voices. This means there is no soldier at 10 oclock radio and its just the "I see an enemy, take cover!" (a shout, not radio) sort of thing.

The way wolf & sick boys DSAI is done, you can easily add your own language addition to it.

If you have not created one, I have been collecting up alot of german voices and have started grouping them into the correct folders. However I don't speak german so its quite hard to correctly place the sounds for incoming fire, grenade, contact ect ect.

And lastly, after been inspired by your work i tried to work on my buildings last weekend, I unwrapped most of this ruined building and put afew textures down. If i finished it and LODed/configed it, would you like it for your island? I would be very happy if it could be used, but if not its no worries.
here is a picture of the progress so far.

I just thought it would make a fun spot to set up afew MG34's or a hidden panzer :)

Keep up the good work, and i'm glad you found a ww2 mod to work on enigma!(finally) :D

Anyway image tags are giving me a headache, i'm off to bed.:compcrash :)

heh, thanks, although most people who've added it into arma has made it look really weird and flat, like its got no depth to the normal map.
adding a very faint yellow layer set to darken seems to could remedy that problem.

Hi there dejawolf. First off just want to apologize for your work making it to my mod. I removed it. As soon as I found out I made another panther. It doesn't take me very long to create models.

I have a policy that strictly prohibits use of a person(s) work without permission. As I have stated on the BIS forums since this started this is a community effort. I will gladly accept the work of others so long as they are willing to contribute. Many people have come forward to help out. Their work will receive credit where credit is due, via splash/mission screens.

People create addon's for various reasons. Mine are intentionally created with the idea of sharing and improving upon so people can have fun via entertainment factor. I wanted to create a mod for the community, by the community.

This mod is a open community project. Any model/map or mission I bring to the table is fair game for people to use as they wish. Nothing is top secret or above the work of others. There won't be models held back because someone feels they need only share with chosen individuals.

-I haven't had a chance to create performance LOD's and I agree with you on the performance aspect.
-Yes I agree with you on radio features. I like the idea. But I haven't had a chance to think about adding or even looked at different voices like german, etc. It would be very cool.
-I would love to use your work and feature it on the map. I respond mostly in the BIS forums on this topic. You can also PM me there for more contact info.
-The AI in the mod are a bit more aggresive in that they engage at further distances and lay down fire. Also the tanks are deadly. Aircraft too.

There are soo many good ideas, so little time. I try to work them all in. Oct 15th is the beta release. I'm nearly ready to release the "first phase".

The idea behind the beta is for people to try out the stuff, put it to the test, give feedback and we can make changes from there.

This will be an excellent oppurtunity for mission makers to show off their skills. I only plan on putting out a warfare style mission, which may or may not make the oct. 15th date. Not sure yet. It's before me on my plate. Soon as it's done I'm releasing it.

I have a ton of other models in work at the moment, so don't think this is all your going to get.

I'm not doing anything fancy obviously like rvmat's or special mapping. Some people are stepping forward helping out with that stuff. As models get changed updates will occur.

Hopefully this answers some questions as my PM's get full.

Thanks for the answers Rip31st.

Ok, so I am putting in a request here for a german speaker's aid to create a german addon pack for Wolfrug and Sick boys DSAI.
http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/RUG_DSAI#Creating_Custom_Voices_Pack

I have a large pile of german sounds (not as much as I would like though) which have been sorted into three folders. A safe, aware and combat folder which have been sorted by how they sound.

What I need help with is to sort the combat and aware folders out correctly into these various folders

*General combat
*general aware
*Fleeing
*WoundedSounds
*OwnKilledSounds
*EnemyKilledSounds
*MiscSounds (not sure what this is, I will pm WolfRug tomorrow about it).
*ContactSounds
*UnderFireSounds

So if you have the time to sort through a heap of .wav voices which you can understand, please pm me and i will send you them for sorting.

Also if you have any german sounds which you think would fit in well, please pm me them. (preferably sorted into safe/danger/aware folders if possible.

Thanks :)

Haha Thanks,
yeah Seems I've been around the block a bit with WW2 mods and with some dodgy leadership issues.
happy I've found someone to work with that has a solid head on his shoulders :D

Well i think the update might have been missed by the scouts so i'll post it up here :)
I finished the tigers new texture not long ago to go with it's panther friend
Here she is with her new look.

Also Rip has announced that Gliders will be included in the mod.
they will be able to carry troops.Light AT guns and Jeeps.
they will be towable from a C-47.
